Diese Woche sind alle Lieder aus den 80ers, ausser dem ersten und dem letzten Lied aus der Liste. Die daenischen Frauen machen sich ganz gut an die Arbeit, und zwar so gut, dass ich die restlichen Lieder, die ich für die Liste aus den Neuveroeffentlichung ausgesucht habe, gleich streichen musste. Was macht man in so einer Situation, wenns um Musik geht? In die Vergangenheit zurück. wie geahnt, die 80er, der dunklen Seite.

Manchester based DJ/producer Kollier makes his debut on AUX with a tryptych of original Broken Beats and Bass fuelled Techno, along with a steller remix from A:B:S.

Martin Kollier is the co-founder of the North West England free party event and DJ collective known as ‘Bass,Breaks&Beats’ and has been releasing a steady stream of on point productions on labels such as Breaks SK, LW Recordings and independently through his own Kollier Bandcamp page.

Title track ‘Home’ is a anthemic slice of classic rolling Breakbeat.  Pitched 808 style subs and chunky percussion hammer out the groove, competing with nostalgic rave blasts and bubbling melodic flourishes for an uplifting, early morning banger. AUX regular A:B:S delivers his own laid back take on the title track with his ultra smooth remix. Focusing on the more melodic elements and creating a lush, soaring counterpoint to the EPs darker moments. ‘The Witches House’ sees Martin exploring Tech-Funk territory with a solid, pumping 4/4 groove and cavernous washes of glitched up FX. By flirting with a subtle Psychedelic edge, this steady burner, will see support from both the Tech heads and the more Psy inclined DJs alike, by providing another very versatile dancefloor tool. ‘Raw’ closes the EP with a bang, taking a solid Techno groove and layering it with rolling tribal percussion and raucous acid squelches and crunchy stabs.  A haunting trancelike lead adds an extra twist to this driving mutant rhythm.
