Continuing his assault on the Proton Music catalogues, Rick Pier O'Neil's 'One Side of the Underground' created an impressive combination of original and remix material. Part of September 2018's Vol. 2, 'Another Side' now receives a pair of new remixes on Yin and Yang.

Hailing from the Colombo capital, Danidu Parinda & Hasith Balasuriya are both successful artists in their own rights. Influenced by icons of the underground dance scene, Danidu hit the headlines with his 'Venna' EP for We Are The Underground in January 2019, while other work for Hydrogen and Massive Harmony have continued a growing portfolio. Similarly, Hasith has seen a nascent production career influenced by the iconic names of Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo and as a regular on such behemoths as BC2, 3xA and Tuxedo's Electronic Tree. 

Joining forces in July 2018 with a remix of Sleg's 'Arusman' for Massive Harmony, a pair of further reworks for PHW Elements and Soundteller now see Danidu & Hasith debut on Yang. Their bouncing, groove-oriented affair combines dancefloor rhythms with a series of pulsating melodic sequences that bristle with verve and dynamism. Taking O'Neil's motifs as a starting point, the Sri Lankan duo have created a raft of original phrases that work intelligently alongside original components in the track's second half.

With his latest work on Strange Town Recordings, Toronto-based producer Dowden continues his rise as one of the hottest upcoming talents in progressive house music. Fresh off a chart-smashing EP, Dowden delivers a meticulously crafted remix of Jorgio Kioris’ Moonchild for the Canadian label known for its originality and forward-thinking releases. Dowden’s remix captures the deep and mysterious vibe of Kioris’ original while taking it a step further with a  chunky groove and twisted textures. The result is an exciting new track primed to kick-start the dance floor.

'Stinkbug Roulade' is a dirty and energetic slammer, full of drive with a techno slant but with proggy edges. Fierce.

When you come up with titles for tracks, sometimes they just land like this one "I Think Therefore I'm Spam'. A dirty arpy driver, some wonky vibes and plenty of punch.
