Born and bred in Brighton, Smasha was raised on drum and bass by her parents listening to labels such as Ram Records and Metalheadz on the way to school. She quickly got a taste for the heavy drums and murky basslines. 

Smasha is a resident raver/DJ at the famous Volks Nightclub in Brighton. With it's reputation as hosting some of the best underground dnb events in the country, it was only a matter of time until Smasha became a regular patron to the mighty Volks. Being a part of such a tight knit and passionate sub-culture is a constant source of sanctuary and it was this sense of community that encouraged her to hone her own craft. 

During the lockdown and whilst living with her DJ/Producer partner, she was able to spend some more time on this love and pick up the headphones. Since then she spends many hours a week buying, collecting, mixing new and older tunes. 

A couple of years on and she’s played in some of her favourite local venues including The Volks Nightclub and Concorde 2 for the likes of Delirium Sessions, Overview Music, Sultry Sounds, Critical Music & Multi Function. Smasha also had a slot on her local pirate radio, Code South. 
 
Expect to hear an hour of minimal, tech, jungle and heavy rolling vibes on this mix.

The track morphs into a deep Liquid groove when the lush piano chords and Rhodes piano arpeggiation sounds are introduced to the track.  This one’s an instant classic of a roller that screams BLADE!  “You Can’t Fix This,” is up next and also highlights Blade’s signature rolling drums, 808 bassline, soaring pad samples, and heartfelt vocals. Codename: RCRDS are proud to present the 2nd solo artist EP on the label with the exceptionally talented NonRev delivering five lush atmospheric jungle / drum and bass tracks. 

 Heavily inspired by the music of LTJ Bukem and Good Looking Records, Voyager, DJ Trax, PFM and other 90s legends, you can expect relentless old breakbeats, big 808s and vibey jazz samples all drenched in reverb and nostalgia with a decidedly modern twist.

 The EP opens with ‘Never Again’, where lush keys and synth vox’s meet rolling breaks and deep rumbling bass. Things move into an eerier direction with the catchy guitar riff and deep stabbing synth tones of ‘Inconsequential’, before things switch back into a more rolling direction with ‘Have Life Will Travel’.

 The stunning ‘Stay With Me’ seamlessly interplays several vocals with rolling breaks and an infectious bassline, before the EP closes with the gorgeous title track ‘Sun At Midnight’.
