Egyptian Greyhound lands in the Ibiza of the 90s, an Ibiza infected with English club and rave culture mixed with the August heat of an island surrounded by crystal clear waters, paradisiacal coves, and white sand, offering ancestral hypnotic and rhythmic experiences. This is where we find the leitmotif of this EP: hypnotic house, lysergia, well-paced rhythms, dreamy pads, and summery textures. 

The EP Mega Passión opens with a track infected with breaks, piano stabs and reminiscences of 90s house, giving way to I Feel You Close to Me, of which we find two versions and a superlative remix by Breezy S. The main version is an oral tribute to that glorious era, featuring the legendary Korg M1 piano sound with a radiant chord progression. 

Breezy S's vigorous remix turns the track around and plunges it into the night, and to close the EP, we head to the sand with (Benirras Dreamy Version), an undulating declaration of love for the Pitiusas Islands.

On his debut single - 'Sum', Berlin based producer Lid KII explores the nocturnal, with floating pads that preach uncertainty, a driving bassline and warm kicks, laced together with infectious acid sounds, all with a vocal sample as a cherry on top. The track packs more than a punch to play at an after party though it is just as perfect for solitary consumption in the dead of night.

Sliding into the annual festival of 420, clipp.art rips the lid off a literal shvedskiy stol of underground artists residing in Eastern Europe and the Russian Federation. After recently delving into the fringes of the continental divide with showcase guest mixes and releases from an array of DJs and producers residing in the baltics and high far east. We now select here seven producers bumping out the boundaries of house & techno music for the first edition of ”высокий спрос” - a new series that aims to shine our spotlight on these leftfield territories. 
From acid to electro darkwave, breakbeat to chilltronica, modular techno to the rawest of raw house - ”высокий спрос” pulls together a collection of new artists moving the boundaries between Eastern and Western European dance music to beyond the geographical. And for that reason alone, we believe they will no doubt soon be in “High Demand”!

UrbnMowgli & Moodrich - E-Motions EP [CLIPP158]

UrbanMowgli and Moodrich are a couple of German based lads that love belting out tha tunes. They mix it up here for an EP consisting of a couple collaborative efforts, paired with two solo originals -  which both complement each other and also gives definition to their easily interchangeable electro aesthetics.

Opener “E-Motions” might fall into what you would traditionally recognise as an immediate classic lo-fi house flavour: resonate electric keys, clanging house beats, playful lead, a soulfully unrecognizable vocal hook. Or as we like to call it “melodic nostalgia”. It’s all there and sets the mood (sic) like a butt print on your couch - familiar and welcoming.

UrbnMowgli goes solo on “Cocco My Love” and glides between breakbeat and house patterns with splashes of soul flirting in the corner with some sweet italo lead arpeggiation. It’s that gelato flavour you always order cause you can’t simply stop licking. Go ahead, you do you, man.

There’s no conspiracy that Moodrich’s follow up “Deep State” goes.. erm.. Deep? But it still brings enough in the way of motorik riddims, euphoric backing vocals and a healthy dose of acid bassline to likely get at least 2 out of 5 RA podcast hosts lens cleaning & chin-stroking in semi-approval. 

EP closer “Astral Journeys” reunites these Berlin buddies on a dreamy chugger that feels too fast, yet slows the feels right down. This is music for dancing around your kitchen with a glass of wine, while you have a pasta bake in the oven, under the glow of those christmas lights you decided to put up 5 months before the actual holiday season. Pour yourself another cup of E-Motions. You deserve it.

Defora Records presents “Take Your Time” the new EP by label founder Manipolato (aka Latino Pellegrini). One year has passed from his last release on the label and now, our main man is back with a bunch of new tracks full of good summer vibes. The title track is a tribute to Manipolato’s underground vocal house background when he was living in New York City lower east side as an active member of the local club scene. Featuring amazing vocals from a well-known house legend (can you guess who?) make sure to prepare your dancing shoes for a soulful journey back in time. The EP also features the Afro House influenced remix by DJ Thor and 2 more original tracks. Always Good Vibes with a Hard Twist!


MANIPOLATO (aka Latino Pellegrini) is an Italian DJ/Producer, musician, filmmaker and the founder of Defora Records. Active as a DJ since the late 90's in the New York scene, Manipolato's first EP “Medications” was released on vinyl in 2003 by Red Menace Records, with a dope remix by Gus Gus. Both behind the decks and in the studio, Manipolato delivers a unique blend of Techno, Deep & Tech House and Old School Grooves. His discography is also filled with several collaborations and remixes for artists such as Elisa, Anna Cavazos, Ricky Leo and Sound Shapes. In 2015 he founded his own label Defora Records with the main goal to create a growing family of talented artists from around the globe and to release only quality music for the dance-floor. Currently based in Italy, he’s an active figure in the local underground scene, as he continues to produce and to perform his music in clubs worldwide.
