This is a song on which I sing and play pedal steel guitar.  The song is based on a poem by my late aunt:  Pat Brandstetter.  Here is here original poem:

Dear Reader, 

What is existence? Who made time? Is there a governing force? These are questions that cannot be answered with any certainty. Humankind has spent thousands of years creating stories to answer these questions and there are as many answers as there are cultures. 

When something good happens, there is a tendency for some to thank a deity. But what about when something bad happens? Some will say that this event was the deity's doing too, and that it is all part of some grand plan. 

I prefer not to twist myself into a pretzel attempting to apply logic to what are leaps of faith. And so, I follow science as it attempts to get closer to truth. In this song, I apply—in a whimsical way—a religious trope (Say Amen) to what is my secular belief. I encourage all to follow their own beliefs, whether sacred or secular. I cast no aspersions no matter what your beliefs, so long as those beliefs do not impinge upon the beliefs and freedoms of others. 

My special thanks to Audric Jankauskas for joining me on this song. His immense talent as a guitarist may be known to those of you who have heard him play on several of my other songs, but you should also know of his great musicianship, arranging and compositional skills. Audric added those beautiful angular lines toward the end of the song, which I think are so cool. 

This has been a great summer for me. I've had the opportunity to collaborate with at least 12 other musicians—talented players and singers from all around the globe. The autumn approaches, but the music will continue—I still have much more music that I am eager to release.

We all wander at one time or another.  Sometimes, it leads us to wonderful discoveries.  At other times, it can take us away from the things and people in life that are truly important.  One thing is certain:  Wandering almost always teaches us something.

To our forefathers, who sought and gave us perfection with the Sexagesimal system and the importance of ratios. Upon which time and shape is still measured, secretly, in plain sight..
As the world turns and a new day begins, the cycle repeats. The night's sky a constant reminder if we just look up;  the patterns found everywhere in nature like a simple flower; the rhythm and patterns in music if we tune in and listen carefully enough.
When two are joined perfectly to form the "mind's eye", two become three and new life is born and so it goes on, and on, and on...

all of the tracks on here are made with a 12 track boss digital recorder.      to make some sounds more spacious such as the main chords and melodies i have to use 2 tracks at the same time. this is why i try to keep my tracks short because i can only use a limited number of sounds. if i use 2 tracks for bass, drums, chords and melody it only leaves me with 4 tracks for effects and secondary melodies. i prefer to record only one sound on the channels allocated as this avoids problems with volume levels.  i'm not a great musician, but i am also not very good with computers, so this is the only way i can demonstrate my musical ideas.  a big thank you to everyone who listens and comments.........and especially those who like.
