Eskimo Recordings is proud to present the remixes of Rikki, the new single of London based disco advocate Blende. Following his breakthrough release Fake Love on Eskimo (played by A-Trak, Aeroplane, Yuksek, Dimitri from Paris and The Magician) he is now returning with this new unique effort of his own. ‘Rikki’ is a top of the line indie dance tune that once again serves up a generous dose of nu-disco, combining the old school with the new.

The original version of Rikki is already supported by A-Trak, The Aston Shuffle, Punks Jump Up, Gorgon City, Yuksek and Tensnake. We now give you The Remixes. This release includes a stellar line up of remixers, with Moonlight Matters (Kitsuné), Phonat (OWSLA), Le Crayon (Partyfine), French Horn Rebellion (Vitalic Noise) and Majestique (Eskimo) each giving a whole new twist to the original.

Having recently celebrated its second birthday with the release of ‘100% Continental’, a best-of mix conceived by its A&R/DJ Jerry Bouthier, Continental records now stops off in Japan for Boys Get Hurt’s new EP: ‘Your Love’ featuring Cinema Citizen.

Already noticed for his remixes (Reflex, Chela, Autokratz, DCUP, Pherotone…) and with several releases under his belt (including a track on the ‘Bonjour Colette’ compilation), Tokyo-based Yuki Abe AKA producer/DJ Boys Get Hurt gets his inspiration from the melancholic feelings the end of summer inevitably brings about, a personal and evocative sensibility in tune with the land of the rising sun’s delicate culture. Yuki expertly crafts bouncy disco-house music with sprinklings of electronica, indie, ambient, hip-hop and R&B – perfect 2014 pop to our ears.

On ‘Your Love’, a meaningful song to practice your best dance moves to, he has teamed up with male vocalist Cinema Citizen - Nobuki Akiyama, borrowed to band Ykiki Beat - for a boyish declaration of love in all its teenage glory.  Dutch rising star NSFW gives it a slick makeover with a deeper twist, whilst French hopeful Avantime takes a slightly more introspective route. Let’s not forget the sublime B-side ‘Sea Through’, a tantalizing, hypnotic disco merry-go-round which shows the prolific Boys Get Hurt is far from being a one-trick pony.

Ok… a ver, ¿se acuerdan de SolidSoda? Pues ahora me tomé un vaso doble de inspiración (y probablemente café de más 🤣) y salió SolidAlloy, la versión premium, reforzada y pulida a nivel “si esto fuera metal, aguanta balazos”.

La mezcla quedó tan metálica y futurista que hasta yo pensé “¿y si me contrato a mí mismo?” 😎. Entre sintetizadores que brillan como cromado recién lavado, ritmos que parecen traídos del año 3050 y un toque retro muy sabroson… pues sí, me quedó bien, no voy a mentir jeje.

¿La portada? Clarooo, bien cinematográfica, bien profesional, con mi firma “ChinoSable” ahí nomás… para que no digan que la IA hizo todo, porque uno también pone el alma, ¿verdad? (Y las desveladas, no se olviden de las desveladas 😭).

Si te gustan los grooves metálicos, los bajos dulces de los 90 y los brillos futuristas que te hacen sentir en modo “piloto de nave espacial”, este track es para ti. Si no… pues igual dale play, capaz y te convence 😏✨.
