As we crash headfirst into the Northern hemisphere winter months we are still able to count on @tooslowtodisco to bring us some summer warmth. Closing out what has been a stellar year for the label, including chalking up some national chart action, they have a new single with @nicolaasmusic who combines his love of nostalgia with his drive to create sounds for the future. 

Our premier today from the three track release see's feature on the track, @kimchiimusic, also step up for remix duties crafting a club edged slice of Nu disco replete with a driving bassline, hooky looped-up vocals and shimmering synths. Classy work indeed which will be in the Dj sets well beyond the chilly winter months.

Having recently celebrated its second birthday with the release of ‘100% Continental’, a best-of mix conceived by its A&R/DJ Jerry Bouthier, Continental records now stops off in Japan for Boys Get Hurt’s new EP: ‘Your Love’ featuring Cinema Citizen.

Already noticed for his remixes (Reflex, Chela, Autokratz, DCUP, Pherotone…) and with several releases under his belt (including a track on the ‘Bonjour Colette’ compilation), Tokyo-based Yuki Abe AKA producer/DJ Boys Get Hurt gets his inspiration from the melancholic feelings the end of summer inevitably brings about, a personal and evocative sensibility in tune with the land of the rising sun’s delicate culture. Yuki expertly crafts bouncy disco-house music with sprinklings of electronica, indie, ambient, hip-hop and R&B – perfect 2014 pop to our ears.

On ‘Your Love’, a meaningful song to practice your best dance moves to, he has teamed up with male vocalist Cinema Citizen - Nobuki Akiyama, borrowed to band Ykiki Beat - for a boyish declaration of love in all its teenage glory.  Dutch rising star NSFW gives it a slick makeover with a deeper twist, whilst French hopeful Avantime takes a slightly more introspective route. Let’s not forget the sublime B-side ‘Sea Through’, a tantalizing, hypnotic disco merry-go-round which shows the prolific Boys Get Hurt is far from being a one-trick pony.

Following appearances on Midnight Riot and Masterworks Music compilations, fast-rising electrofunk cut-up maestro Coutel is given an EP of his own on which to showcase his wares. His style - filter-heavy, loopy, smooth and sumptuous - is largely based around chopped-up rearrangements of largely forgotten '80s soul gems, with ultra-slick vocals riding bumpin' grooves, twinkling synthesizer melodies and shimmering chords. It's hugely appealing, and results in some suitably entertaining fare. Highlights include the soulful boogie-house shuffle of "Gotta Have You", the Jam & Lewis style beatbox pop of "See The Light", and "Stop That", a killer loop jam blessed with delicious guitars, simmering strings and addictive vocals.

As promised, I am happy to offer you this track I’ve been re-mastered and re-arranged over the past months, as a FREE download for this Valentine period, and to thank you for supporting my work !
Bronx born Dave Valentin was a gifted musician, a brilliant flutist that I had the pleasure to see in concert during his GRP days.
This track was only available on Vinyl up to this very day. 
Last year I bought a mint and unopened copy of it, in order to do the transfer first, and then started the re-mastering and production of it… The original was initially recorded on Dave Valentin “In Love’s Time” album in 1982 with a cast of incredible talented musicians such as Marcus Miller on Bass, Buddy Williams on Drums, Jeff Mironov on Guitar, Patrice Rushen and Dave Grusin on Keyboards, among others… Curtis King Jr is the singer on this session, and by the way there are many other gems on this same album... 
Let's bring back LOVE in life !
