Free Radio SAIC is the student-run Internet radio station of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Producers develop shows according to their interests. Examples include: curated mixes, traditional and experimental sound art, narratives, informative or news-oriented talk shows, interviews and live performances. Station membership is open to any SAIC student, faculty, staff or alumni. It is our goal to encourage the SAIC community to play and expand upon traditional broadcast and to produce original radio experiences.

With the collaboration of staff, faculty, students and alumni, we have created things such as the 2007 Free Radio Music Festival, a special curated program with Neighborhood Public Radio and the Whitney Biennial, field trips to Chicago Public Radio, shows with departments and specific classes, and SAIC's highly anticipated annual Silent Disco. We are always open to suggestions from both DJs and listeners on how to improve our station.
