This mix is part of a collection to celebtrate my thirty years of DJ'ing  which started officially in 1991 but in honour of my raving days I have started the collection with "My Raving Years"

It's 5PM Friday 30th Of October 1988  I was 18 years old and  would rush home from my local office junior job in suburbia to get ready for one of the best nights in Essex England on a Friday for Acid House /New Beat Music. The tunes were so diverse, anything from Pop to Rock, strangest thing ever when a tune gets thrown in randomly after jumping about to a Hip Hop tune or possibly a 70's Synth Pop tune :) The crowd was absolutely amazing and so friendly with the majority of people on exctasy although I wasn't at the time I truly felt the vibe and wanted to be part of the movement.

We are 25 years young this year. Paul, the man behind Kinky is still the same. The personel has naturally changed. it's now a mixture of the original DJ's of which I'm one, and a group of brilliant youngsters. The family feeling is still very much there however.

in March we put on the first London Kinky party in a number of years, and unbelievably. 1250 Kinky fans turned up, new and old, and partied like it was 2004. There wasn't a phone in sight and the atmosphere was electric all night. it was a legendary return to London and it was genuinely emotional. I had tears in my eyes talking to people I hadn't seen in 20 years several times. The love and gratitude we have for you all is immense. 

We do it again on 30.11.2024 but this time we'll make sure it's even better. We owe you that now for giving us that same bug and passion we had many years ago. Watch this space for 2025.

I came out of retirement for the 25th Part one. I hadn't played a club for a number of years, despite still buying music and doing mixes for myself and friends. Paul has put the passion right back in me, even more than it ever was, so I'm incredibly grateful to him, more than he realises. Kinky and Paul were a huge part of my life and I love them both dearly still. I'm it's number 1 fan for sure.

This mix for me is Kinky 2024. It's house music that makes me dance like a lunatic. I get lost in this sound. it's chunky, it's funky, it has those hands in the air and hairs standing on end moments that I love about House music and a slightly harder edge to it, which was always my thing.  House music is the only music that does that tto me. It has been since I was 13 years old and discovered it.
