After a super long hiatus, Discobelle Records is back with a brand new string of releases to keep you up in 2014. Arriving this month, the High Steppin' EP from Austrian house-maestro, Dizzy Womack, is a slick little 4-tracker featuring three original cuts from Womack and remix duties from Look Like.

As the follow up release to his 2013 EP, Black Ice, on Top Billin', we find Dizzy in fine form with opening cut, "French Sin." A hypnotic groover with dancing, French-spoken-word vox peppered thru-out. Contrary to its name, "High Steppin'" gets deep, down and dirty with a booty-chakra rumbling bass and pitched down vocals. "She Goes Back" is the deepest of the bunch with stuttering vox and filtered pads, the accompanying remix from Look Like version amps up the more "garage-y" elements which lends the tune a more menacing vibe.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on why I chose electronic music—especially coming from a background in flamenco guitar. For a while, I kept asking myself, What exactly is techno? But I’ve come to see that this question leads away from the truth rather than toward it. Now I ask something simpler, more personal: Why am I drawn to this sound? Each track gives me small, wordless answers—fragments of what I’ve been feeling, seeing, thinking. It’s not about genre or how it might sound to others. It’s about translating lived experience into sound—unfiltered, emotional, and real, in a way that captures the emotional imprint of my recent life, moment by moment. Freedom has always been precious to me. I feel most free in the mountains—especially standing before the twin peaks of Ushba. That mountain means something very real to me. It took the life of my friend this year—a true Svan, a pure Georgian soul. I’ve never met anyone like him.The best Mountaineer, freerider and skier, a man of extraordinary dignity, someone who would open his home to anyone. He was one in a billion. This mix is more than music to me. It’s not a project or a product—it’s everything. A personal imprint of all I’ve been processing: grief, awe, beauty, and a longing for something beyond words. In that way, it’s not something I made. It’s something that revealed itself.

With releases on label like a.r.t.less, Syncrophone and Fuse Brussels he is an artist well in tune with his craft. ‘Cause & Effect’ is another consistent Stojche voyage, remaining true to his sound that stands for high quality techno with a heavy dose of funk and emotional content that simply never misses!

The twenty fourth transmission from RYC comes courtesy of not one, but two artists we greatly admire. Joining forces on a split truly like no other, Japanese maestro Wata Igarashi and Munich’s own multi-faceted genius Polygonia step up with the magnetic ‘Cross Passage’ - a four-track journey at the junction of their respective universes, teleporting us straight to a propulsive, mind-expanding headspace as we’re invited to explore sonic territories still uncharted and harmonics yet unravelled.

The collaborative A-side begins with the dynamic title-track, ‘Cross Passage’, a proactively future-facing number packing the kind of utopian drive that used to define the original techno sound. A highly cinematic narrative boasting Detroit-style vision and epic breath, ‘Cross Passage’ builds bridges between hi-tech elation and organic integration, transcending mere functionality to push back and expand the limits of techno as a deep communication vessel between the individual and the mass. Firing off like a binary script gone astray, ‘Fibre Axis’ takes us on a further bumpy ride across shape-shifting interfaces and blurred-out digital scapes, via abrupt pixel landslides and fractured 3D renderings.

Side-B finds each producer dishing out a slice of his/her own musical idiom. Polygonia strikes first with the pulsating ‘Voltage Blues’ - a mesmeric roller cut from pure eerie synth algebra, boundary-pushing abstraction and surgical but experimental-leaning rhythmic assault. The result is a piece of cutting-edge techno hoodoo, ready to take on clubs with utmost abrasive swagger. Sniping a hail of rainbow-like analogue synth outpour, Wata Igarashi’s solo contribution ’The Tunnel Dreams’ rounds off the journey on a fiercely nonconformist note. Merging a hard-hitting main swing with 8-bit-esque audio pointillism and brooding bass undertones, the Japanese producer cuts a path of antigravitational abandon and relentless rush towards absolving euphoria, which shall leave all in the room levitating somewhere between sheer daze and love-thirsty XTC.

WVRM POOL has grown a reputation for delivering intense moments on dance floors across London’s techno scene. He played an amazing opening set alongside Slinky Kinky at our collab event with Elata so it’s a pleasure to welcome him back. His mixing style creates relentlessly driving sets, with introspective hypnotic texture and organic percussive elements all bound together with an unmistakable groove. He uses expansive soundscapes that reflect his diverse upbringing, drawing inspiration from his home country Singapore, and its unique blend of musical and cultural influences.

FRAGMENT 014 - WVRM POOL

Some sort of heavy fog lifts as you delve into this release by Teik Arô. “Beyond The Tree” lets us in on a fractal orchard, revealing a bassline capable of lifting you off your feet, floating for its duration. 

Time seems to accelerate on the fragile pitches of “Embers From The Moon” and is euphorically reconstructed through the pulses of “Vicious Wipe Out” and freeze over on the weightless impermanence of “Insomnia”. 

“Morning Recipe” presents us with a hyperspeed, anxious euphoria, that seems to be lulled by the futuroid dub channels of “Cryptbloom”

Fides Records celebrates ten years of independent sound and vision with the monumental 41-track release “FIDES X – 10 Years of Fides”. The first 12” FIDESX 1, set to release on 24th October sets the tone for the seven-part vinyl journey, opening with a powerful statement of intent.

UFO95 introduces “After Light Comes Shadow”, a bleep-infused 4/4 cut whose broken accents unfold into layers of cinematic tension. Z.I.P.P.O and Claudio PRC follow with “Marte Rosso”, a poetic excursion across Martian landscapes shaped by evolving pads and hypnotic grooves. D-Leria’s “Underwater” plunges deeper still, driven by relentless modular propulsion and immersive aquatic textures.

The B-side expands the spectrum. Stephanie Sykes & Dyad contribute an untitled roller infused with spiritual intensity and organ-like resonance, while BIMOL’s “Fragmento en La” twists cinematic atmospheres and industrial edges into broken rhythms guided by a haunting Spanish vocal. Bringing the record to a close, Decoder delivers “We Keep Lying To Ourselves”—a slow-burning, 808-driven piece of subtle progression and timeless elegance.
