Following releases on 777 Recordings, Low Income Squad, as well as his own Nasty Enterprises imprint, Nasty King Kurl sets his sights to Queensland’s finest for the energetic and head-turning ‘Weak Lips’ EP. 
Taking inspiration from Breaks, UK Garage, Electro and beyond, Nasty King Kurl combines this myriad of influences with a skill for crafting character-filled yet devastatingly effective dancefloor cuts, striking a careful balance between club functionality and enjoyable at-home listening. 
A-side opener ‘All I Want’ sees chopped breaks and vocals permeating monstrous low end, leading into title cut ‘Weak Lips’, which lays soft Rhodes chords under G-funk whistles and crunchy percussion. On the flip, ‘Low Carb Bitches’ brings cheeky hip hop vocals under squelching bass and freestyle-esque scratches and chops, before closing track ‘Make Tech House Great Again’ carries warped samples, dense percussion and swirling FX to round out the release.

Our fifth "Free Edit of The Month" is more of an original track rather than edit, however Bernu feature a vocalist friend of his who sampled some of the lyrics from John Lee Hooker's track I'm in the Mood. 

Bringing that blues, an electro touch and those deep smooth vocals all together to provide us a finished cocktail that will get us grooving straight from the afterwork!

i find records i love, i fly to a city. i take a nap. i play the records for people. they dance. i get paid i go home.

sometimes i actually think there might be something wrong with me to STILL be doing this. am i stupid?

HOW…. how could you STILL be playing records for people at 5am. shouldn’t you have developed an APP? A line of Wellness Products? surely you should have “sold your company” by now? WRITE A DECK? raise capital!!!! Get bored.
but then i play a set like this (link above) and remember that this is, in fact, as good as it gets, that the core idea i had as a 16year old was actually the BEST idea: to live a life surrounded and protected by MUSIC. armed with your favourite songs, the ones that keep you young and confidant, the ones you want to share with friends.

so that is DJing for me. simple. not particularly revolutionary… except for the fact that to be excited and happy seems revolutionary these days.

also: i’ve played about 4500 parties. and most are like 6 or 7 on tens….. sometimes an 8.

THIS WAS A 10. And the 10s never get recorded. there are lots of exclusives and THREE of my new tracks. and its been recorded WITH all the crowd noise…. trust me its a good one.

Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes. A boundless ball of discordant energy, she’s an adventurous spirit - conducting the vibrant forces of our world that are transmitted through the unbridled passion contained within her DJing. 

Inspired by forces of universal chaos & the innovative, experiential visions found within midwestern electronic music, she's since embarked on a lifelong journey of channeling binary dissolving phenomena throughout our known universe via her unbridled musical vitality & the multifaceted Sweet Abyss imprint.

"This mix is a live recorded portion of a set I played late at night at the wonderful club Outra Cena in Lisbon, Portugal in April 2024. The vibe of it is pondering the orb, watching your life and emotions play out in arcane swirls in front of your eyes as you embody the role of an unreliable narrator in your own existence. Sometimes this view allows clarity, other times overwhelmed by imagined insecurities, other times allowing a reprieve from strife into self love. Emotions and mental findings that feel held in many sets of mine. Sonically, I really felt encouraged this night to dive into my love of the stranger ends of house music, and combinations of industrial/dub/breaks on top. Specifically the influence of my lifelong love of industrial and synth music can really be felt throughout, as well as lamentations on loneliness and connection within capitalism that lots of that music speaks to - industrial music for industrial people. Discotekno, Haunted house, whatever name you want to apply to this music - as well as a healthy dose of dubwise rave stylistics. A strange dream within a stranger reality, living in the paradox. Musick for dance, musick for new corridors of your mind, musick against the fascist, ogliarchal pacification of who we are - viva la differenze!"

Phonica Mix Series 130 welcomes an artist who has defined and defied the rules of drum & bass like no other. dBridge, real name Darren White has been in the game for well over 30 years. Growing up listening to artists like DJ Randall & Grooverider on Rush FM when he was starting out shaped his ear for the sound that he would learn to grow with, love and mutate. With over 100 records released on labels like R&S, Convex, Metalheadz, Nonplus and more that span well into the 90's dBridge has become a pioneer well in his own right. Not only that but his label Exit Records which not too long ago celebrated its 100th release has been a output determined to push the boundaries of experimental bass, D&B and more. 
Having usually referred to himself as being producer first, it is not to be mistaken that White is a seasoned pro behind the decks. Having stepped into Worlds of his own playing with some of Drum & Bass' biggest names like Doc Scott & Goldie, the artist has also stepped into lengthy b2b's with Bass artist Youngsta and Techno legend Donato Dozzy (which he will do once more this Summer at Dekmantel). 
For this mix dBridge has dedicated it to people around him, a friends and family mix of sorts. With heavy bassy tones from the get go and experimental techno and electro flowing throughout - it showcases the sure diversity of one of the best to do it! Every year Sabo’s label @Solselectas drops its highly anticipated Summer Sol compilation and our personal favorite is one of those feel good tunes for this summer by the wicked Swiss Duo @Okuma-sounds.

Exclusive: Primary Perception - Neo Tokyo

Italian trailblazers Simone and Gabriele Giletta not only host events that have become known throughout the country but have established their Club Vision-label since September 2016. After five EPs Club Vision kicks off their 2021 with catalogue number six, which is the first various artist EP in the label's history: four artists/ acts, four tracks, all united under the roof of The Songs of the Distant Earth, a musical potpourri reaching from breaks to acid and back. The A1 comes from Gran Canarian brothers Primary Perception, who contribute their take Neo Tokyo to the EP. The track seizes Mahy and Nichel's - Primary Perception's real names – their musical roots that include influences from Hip Hop, Techno from Detroit and UK in nineties. Hence the duo delivers a break-ish and acid-like track that sounds so timeless that it could be the future of dance music as well as something you would have danced to electronic music's history. Intriguing chords over a 129bpm fast bass line combined with pads and bleeps turn Neo Tokyo to an imitable piece of music.

The Songs of the Distant Earth EP will be released on Club Vision Records.
