Micron Audio embodies a hub for a modern and futuristic electro sound, led by DJ Stingray 313. The imprint beckons intense electronic sounds, roughened textures and geometries that speak to aguiding principle of making technological advancement accessible to the people. These technoid adventures of sci-fi sound design and arrays of unabating rhythm, draw its listeners through warped microworlds and wicked contortions. Behind the sounds, it exists as a display of artistic responsibility, making statements and providing solutions from socio-political commentaries. 

The first Micron Audio physical release emerged in 2011, with DJ Stingray 313’s Electronic Countermeasures EP, following a digital-only compilation that is no longer available. Tracks from the Micron Audio hemisphere have featured in several compilation records released by the likes of Rush Hour and Creme Organization, including Stringray’s Urban Tribe project. It represents a crisply defiant and firmly electronic approach, drawing in the infective indicators of video games. Relaunching afresh in 2021, Micron Audio is working with new artists and is stepping not only further into the future but into the foreground, where its clear scientific intention and political attitude is entrenched through top-shelf sound design and pumping rhythms.

Our next podcast guest does not even need an introduction, meaning, if you know you know, that @Plant43 is a living legend within the musical world.

Inspired by Kraftwerk in the early 80′s Emile Facey was hooked on electro from an early age.

In 1998 he got involved with promoting electro events in London and soon after started writing music as Plant43. His first vinyl release came in 2006 on the much-missed Ai Records. Several 12’s and the well-received “Burning Decay” album in 2010 alongside other releases on Semantica Records, AC Records (acidlab.de), Bleep43 Recordings and Cultivated Electronics have highlighted his singular and ambiguous style of sinewy electro that draws deep from the influence of Drexciya. Emile is also graphic designer and co-founder of bleep43.com, which is dedicated to promoting and reviewing electronic music. Since 2003, the London based Bleep43 parties have seen him play live alongside such acts as ERP, DJ Stingray, Surgeon, $tinkworx, Microthol, Urban Tribe and many more.

Electrix is a sister label of the Techno label @torturedrecords and is more experimental in nature releasing a mixture of dancefloor-friendly Electro, inspired by the sounds of Miami, Detroit, and those deep and dubby releases by the hugely influential @basicchannelofficial - The label, originally started in 2000, and was famed for getting Techno producers like Cari Lekebusch, Umek, Phil Kieran and Chris McCormack on the Electro tip but also for releasing quality releases from the likes of Dynarec, Mr. Velcro Fastener, Scape One, Sync 24, Transparent Sound, Max Durante, Carl Finlow, Keith Tucker, and more.

Legowelt returns to Clone Records with yet another sonic journey that defies conventional electronic music boundaries, offering an album that is as eclectic as it is immersive. His ability to fuse elements of house, techno, disco and electro with cinematic influences results in an album that is not only ready for club use but also gratifying at home. Each track offers something unique--whether it's the hypnotic rhythms, the lush synth lines, or the subtle, eerie undertones that creep in unexpectedly. The pair first met last year at the Rex club in Paris where they were both playing.  After a passionate chat about their shared love for electro they decided to work on a release together. Several emails and phone calls later, the idea for a split 12" was formed.

Veteran French producer, Maelstrom made his Cultivated Electronics debut in 2018 with ‘ECZO EP’.  Now more than two years later and following a new album on RAAR, he returns with another EP, this time for CE’s vinyl-only subsidiary, Cultivated Electronics Ltd.

Joan-Mael Péneau has been making music for over fifteen years, with a history of aliases and side projects, illegal raves thrown in warehouses, fields and basements, but he soon came into his own under his Maelstrom moniker, releasing music on the likes of RAAR (the label he co-founded with Louisahhh in 2015), Cultivated Electronics, Central Processing Unit, Mechatronica, Private Persons and Discos Atónicos.

Though his name suggests chaos, Maelstrom’s music delivers intention, focus and precision that are evident on his ‘Expression Directe’ EP, which features four new tracks of deep and expressive electro-funk.
