2nd Drop are proud to present a brilliant new single from the Georgian wunderkid Bakradze (also known to many as Gacha with releases on Apollo and Teal so far), presenting two tracks packed with more energy and melodic fizz than a orchestra on Red Bull and Proplus.

Lead track ‘The Room’ is a peak time beast but with superb swinging kick drums and percussive patterns and those creeping dubbed out pads, all driving towards a wonderful euphoric breakdown. This is an understated DJ tool with extra warmth and finesse. On the flip is ‘We Always Work It Out Somehow’, a big, emotive joint with the same dub techno attitude, but turned down a notch and oozing soul, getting you ready for those post club manoeuvres.

We are very happy to welcome back Uiu, one of our favourite artists, who has already graced the labels of JKenzo and Gerry Read’s releases in the past for 2nd Drop Records, and here returns with his usual cacophony of colour and madness. Dropping soon on a debut for Parisian label Third Try Records, '125bpm Atnight2' is a symbiosis of razor-edged percussion and bubbling 303. A subtle synth wash lingers at the back of the mix, lending the whole thing an undeniably eerie quality. Animated throughout, everything about the track is overflowing with an inextinguishable and infectious sense of effervescence. SFV Acid might save the most experimental and deranged material for self-released cassettes, but club-ready productions like those found on the 'Petty Clubber EP' exude a playful vibrancy and personality that like the hand drawn artwork, is unmistakably his.

Five years after the illustrious Paranormal Soul LP, techno derelict Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt returns on Clone with “Legendary Freaks In The Trash Of Time”. A vivid collection of twelve genre-defying tracks: from late-night hermit house to Memphis rap influenced slowjam electro, from Amiga 1200 technorave to cosmic spaceweed trance, including the whole universe in between. All blended together in a mix of  subdued sensuality and psychedelic splendour, this album is flavoured with Legowelt’s typical crunchy LO-FI sampler and synthesizer aesthetic. Wolfers’ own hand-drawn sleeve artwork illustrates the album’s mood without the need for much further promotional blurb… colourful stories embodying societal malaise and its dwellers - yet with a dash of aspiration. Legowelt -  Legendary Freaks In The Trash Of Time [CWCS009LP]

Awesome Tapes From Africa introduces us to the classic house grooves of Professor Rhythm, a South African producer named Thami Mdluli who developed his own distinct style during the 80s and 90s.

Beginning his career as a member of chart-topping bubblegum pop groups Taboo and CJB in the 1980s, Mdluli's skills as a musician soon caught the attention of many others in the scene and he became a highly sought after producer. When working on albums for the likes of Sox and Sensations, as well as being an in-house producer for influential record labels like Eric Frisch and Tusk, Mdluli would include an instrumental of his own on each release. These tracks soon grew in popularity and out of a high demand from his fans, he decided to release solo instrumental albums in 1985 as Professor Rhythm.

Now with the help of Awesome Tapes From Africa, Professor Rhythm's album 'Bafana Bafana' is given new life. Originally released in 1995, the material includes eight tracks focusing on kwaito, a genre that emerged in South Africa that fuses house rhythms with African textures. Today these tracks sound as relevant as ever and undoubtedly work magic on the dancefloor.

'Bafana Bafana' is set for release October 20.
