Founded in 2020 Future Avenue is an electronic music imprint which operates under the Sound Avenue umbrella. Sitting alongside fellow subdivisions 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds, Future Avenue looks to provide a home for new and rising talent. With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

(BLAQTAPES007) is the latest generous serving fresh from Leipzig’s forward thinking record label, Blaq Numbers, whom we have been following since the label was established in 2015 are always coming through with impressively original music from the likes of Mangabey, Tilman, Just Jam, LUVLESS and many more exciting artists.
Today we have the pleasure of premiering the A9 track, ‘La Passion Galactique’ created by French producer DJ Psychiatre, a composer who is always experimental without losing his key sound and formula that makes his highly emotive electronic music so easily-recognisable.  With releases on labels such as Dance Around 88, GASP Records and Pulse MSC, its satisfying to see DJ Psychiatre back with Blaq Numbers, his last release was on the labels 2018 Untitled EP. 

‘La Passion Galactique’ is something special with alternating pitches, muted basslines, strong deep house broken beat sounds reminiscent of the early 90s warehouse raves. It’s clear that this doctor has the power to heal any of your afflictions, oscillating between various soundscapes, it  just depends on what you fancy. The busier periods of the track transport you through the atmospheric layers separating us from the great beyond, but they quickly become open wide spaces of pure tranquil ambient house feels  which provoke deep thought leading you to complete mental freedom and a feeling of serenity. DJ Psychiatre’s ability to move listeners and leave them with a sense of deep satisfaction and contentment is why we are raving about ‘Las Passion Galactique’, we encourage you to sit back relax and allow yourself to be transported off into the galaxy.

Russian producer Komartsov makes his debut on Estonian label 'Gestalt' with a 4 track EP named Space Express. This is a leftfield house release that brings back memories of old school 80's movies. 'The Jungle Is Calling!' is an ambient leftfield house track that makes you feel like your watching Big Trouble In Little China Town on psychedelics. Amidst all this COVID-19 chaos, we’re all in search of positive outlets.  How about one from Edinburgh hey..? The jolly Scotsman Telfort returns with his 4th EP (TLFT004), once again pressed with his very own TFLT emblem. Now if you know this chaps music, there’s a sense of precision about his records, seemingly every layer of every track mixed to perfection and this dose is no different. 

The B1 ‘It’s A Phase’ immediately stuck its chest out. An artfully repetitive house roller, made up of sharp percussion, laser-like keys and a reverberating dial tone on loop. There’s real texture in this record with rich synths that feel like the gift of flight and dense bass notes that inspire human movement. ‘It’s A Phase’  deliberately doesn’t reach any great crescendos, it coasts along with an understated authority, like all those who drive Teslas. 

Thus far, its just been Telfort pressing original material to TLFT. If I were a fortune teller, I’d say it won’t be too long before he invites other producers aboard his classy house bandwagon. Hop on and find a spare seat!

All the way from Bogota, Colombia’s Felipe Gordon delivers a multi-dimensional EP to Shall Not Fade’s Lost Palms imprint. A wealth of influences come together on this varied release, it’s 4 tracks blossoming from roots in funk, soul and house music.

Kicking off the release, ‘The Júpiter Song’ is lounge house at it’s finest. Slick simple beats with jazz infused drums pave the way for A2’s, woozy piano house cut ‘Hey, Keep Going’. A multi-faceted release, the reverse sees Felipe Gordon flexing his heavier production hand. Sticky thumper ‘Acid Horizontal Polka’ is a chunkier affair; acid lines, thick kicks interspersed with chords and disorientating vocals. Rounding out the EP, ‘Snake Jazz’ transports the listener far away with funk-filled bass licks and serpentine percussion.
