I have a lot to be grateful for when it comes to my current partner. She has enabled me to connect more with the music I love, while also being a true partner in everything.

We would typically celebrate our anniversaries with a night of music, where I would play for her through the night. This year, I thought to share this with my closest friends and local community members as two of our members had moved away recently, but were coming to visit and asked if there was any opportunities to dance. 

I was privileged to be able to invite my favourite musical historian, DJ Solitare, who was incredibly generous to agree to my crazy plan to build an unforgettable anniversary gift, along with two other local DJs, one of which had to cancel last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. 

This is the recording of my set from the night, I hope you enjoy as it carries symbolism, samples, emotions and energy that represent facets of our relationship.

Fiery Dawn - I Come From Outer Space (Global Sect, 2023)

The new album of the Georgian project Fiery Dawn is literally saturated with fiery cosmic vibrations and sci-fi goa-trance sound.

This release is similar to a psychedelic comic or manga, in which the main superhero emerges from the depths of infinite space and controls multi-layered and massive streams of fiery cosmic energy.

The tracklist includes collaboration tracks with Atlantis, E-Mantra, Median Project and Astronobios.

Porcelain EP by @chloebattelle sails between electronica, minimal techno, and breakbeat. The palette is cinematic - deliberate and enticing with carefully textured synths, organic percussion, and drums anchoring each track. Cycling through tumbling breaks, lush pads, and carefully crafted samples that reference the soundscape of 90’s breakbeat and trance, the tracks build subtly, layering rhythm and emotion with intent instead of resolving into anything obvious.

Across the EP, there’s a clear sense of restraint in the production and a willingness to leave space and to let ideas breathe. Chloe plays with dynamics intentionally: low-frequency energy is employed strategically and the stereo field is used as a storytelling tool; widening, folding in, and then expanding again. Hyper vocal snippets, booming kicks, and sparkling perc hits, are largely self-recorded or built from scratch, propelling the emotional weight of ‘Porcelain’.
