Born in Chicago on February 21, 1989 as Kennedy Davidson, the future emcee known as “Kenwood” knew from an early age that he wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.

The former basketball standout, who once aspired to play in the NBA, took up music at the age of 17. Inspired by the likes of Jay Z, Nas, Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac, Kenwood strives to be the voice of the voiceless and tell the untold stories of a community infested with drugs, gangs, and poverty. Having a preacher for a father also played a big role in his wanting to rap and put out positive messages that may someday help change the world.

Kenwood's first foray into the music world was in 2008 via a group formed with friends Lenny Blu, Rezidue and King Lil Ron called The Movement. Coming together because of their common passion of speaking to empower and changing their communities, the group performed all over Chicago and made a great impact the lives of many with their message of never giving up and always striving for your dreams.

Taking his career to the next level, Kenwood joined forces with Muzikal Menace Records in 2010 and has been producing music at a breakneck speed ever since. His latest release is entitled I.G.L.M. (Inspirational Good Love Music) and features the heavily buzzed about first single and video “Raise The Flag”.

Through dedication and hardwork, plus a little luck, Kenwood is poised to become the next Chicago Hip-Hop artist to become a household name while making a positive difference in Hip Hop, and inspiring others to do the same.
