ProbCause links with fellow Chicago artist Chance The Rapper to drop "LSD," off the upcoming Recipe Volume 2 which is scheduled to drop July 16th!


LSD came together several months ago when the Beijing based electronic group Pet Conspiracy reached out to producer Drew Mantia to do a remix of of one of their original songs.  Drew reached out to ProbCause to record over the remix, and during the recording session for "Three Course Meal" featuring Action Bronson and Chance the Rapper, Chance liked the record so much he layed his verse on the spot.

Revolution is Diplo's follow up to the meme-defining Express Yourself EP. Teaming up with an all new cast of friends including Mike Posner, RiFF RAFF, Travis Porter, Action Bronson and many more , Diplo has produced one of the most cutting edge dance EP's in recent memory. "Biggie Bounce" continues where "Express Yourself" left off, creating a new NOLA bounce anthem with Travis Porter, restating Diplo's claim to the king of twerk. Diplo aims for the clouds with "Revolution," allowing Kai's vocal delivery to soar above the stadium trap instrumental. "Crown" lets loose one of the hardest drops of Diplo's career only to have him pull it back in with Mike Posner's light hearted vocals. The EP is rounded out with "Rock Steady", an homage to old school hip hop featuring verses from Action Bronson, Mr MFN esquire and Mad Decent's own RiFF RAFF. Chicago’s winter was especially brutal in 2014, yet in stark contrast, our Hip Hop scene has been on fire.  On the coldest day of the year we assembled an all-star cast of Mick Jenkins, Dally Auston, NoName Gypsy, Saba and producers OnGaud at SoundScape Studio for a special Closed Session.  

While this group of emcees and producers have been friends for a long time, and worked together in the past, this session was their first time all working together simultaneously on one song.  The result is “Realer Than Most” a dope new cut from our newest compilation, Closed Sessions Vol. 3 releasing soon.

About "A Day In The Life" 
"When I originally made the beat, it was just a main melody loop of strings and keys with some programmed drums over it. Sonically, I was inspired by Raekwon & Ghostface's song "Heaven & Hell", but I wanted to make it an introspective record about a hustler's come up from the street life to the rap game. And as time passed, I kept going back to the beat and adding more elements. I chopped the melody up more, I played live drums over it, and I wrote a hook that I felt required a female vocalist. So I reached out to the best female vocalist I knew, Macie Stewart, formerly of the popular group Kids These Days. She came to the studio, re-worked the hook, and added some beautiful harmonies throughout. I then sent the beat to AZ, who I knew would set off the track in a classic way. He rapped from the perspective of a hustler that survived the game, did it his way, and is now living the good life. That same approach and theme continued on with Havoc of Mobb Deep and Freeway, both of whom added their own personal narrative to a day in the life of a hustler. Lastly, I orchestrated even more live instrumentation into the track with Graham Burris playing some bass guitar and some live horns at the end by Nico "Donnie Trumpet" Segal, also formerly of the group Kids These Days. Overall, the song has an epic and triumphant feel to it. I'm very happy with the way it came out. It's one of my favorite songs on my album and I hope everyone enjoys it.”

Hodgy Beats: Break Ya Neck (prod. by Thelonious Martin)

Tanya Morgan came to Chicago in early September for a show at Sub-T. The day before their show they hit the city, and basically came right to the studio. The funny thing is that the trio rarely record together, making this track one of the few done by Tanya Morgan all at once. Any nervousness they had soon went away after settling on this track from Tony Baines. They all gravitated to the same subject matter, and the song is very indicative of where they are as a group.
