About the CD:
For our 23rd episode we once again asked a friend of the site for their favourite all time CD. Andy Buchan is editor of Dubai's leading music and events publication, the fortnightly Infusion magazine. He's written for Mix Mag, DJ mag and Q magazine so he know's a thing or two about music. He's also one of the Dubai's best DJ's. Running his award winning alternative night Loaded and the famous dubstep and bass night SYNF amongst others. Andy has warmed up for anyone and everyone from 2ManyDJ's, to Norman Jay, Beardyman to Chase and Status and held down residencies at pretty much every quality venue in Dubai.

He originally picked Francios K's Choice disc... but as we just had a Choice disc from our last guest (We Luv's Ian Blevins) he also recommended Francios K's superb Essential Mix (Disc One). Which is a storming journey of starting with house and quickly moving into funk, disco, soul and everything in between. With from James Brown, Level 42, Maurizio, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Kyoto Jazz Massive to name a few... it's easy to see why Francios K has formed such legendary status with many of the finest selectors out there. After a successful project launch in 2022 with releases on KD Raw and Motech, veteran underground producer Nico K aka Closer Orbit delivers a slice of dark funk and gritty analog synth work with the “All I Need EP”.  This 2-tracker, via courtesy of his own eponymous imprint, comes on the heels of an intensely productive studio period.  A vocal edit sampling a seminal Nas track anchors the title cut 'All I Need,’ as a metallic arp grinds away— while 'Warped' is marked by warbling, off-kilter synths and a heavy, insistent pulse, showcasing his live techno production style.

He opens the dance and the opening duty of Søno.Cast.

An eclectic and innovative artist from Indonesia, he started his journey into the world of electronic music in 2008. Making his mark on the South East Asian scene.
His music finding influence in the rhythms of jazz, soul, and blues, as well as the atmospheric resonances of Sci-Fi soundtracks, Ecilo has spent years to refining his sound and honing his technique to become a producer who, while being strongly rooted in the foundations of techno, he is exceptionally genre-fluid.

With releases on noteworthy labels such as AXIS, ARTS, Planet Rhythm, Olympian, and more, Ecilo has strengthened his reputation as a producer and DJ with his percussive beats resonating around the world.
