casey’s sleeping in the dirt 
mud is caked onto her skirt
but the sun is beating down

 casey runs around the yard
wishing that she could go far

now she’s unlocked the back gate
finally she has escaped
while her parents are asleep
she hits the concrete with her feet

and suddenly she misses home
stops when she reaches the tracks
breathes in deep and then turns back

runs from all that she’s been told

scared her when it hit the trees

hears a knock then screams and screams
