It took GENEROUS MARIA 7 years to deliver a 3rd album, from 2006 album "Electricism", released on Buzzville. During these years, GENEROUS MARIA have developed a more clean sound, without giving up their original music. The band still delivers many real strong tracks, influenced by the 70's hardrock scene, with incredible melodic hooks and a nod to the indie scene. Imagine AEROSMITH playing with SOUNDGARDEN, or similar to other artists like MUSTASCH, ALTER BRIDGE, WOLFMOTHER and MOTHER MISERY. 

GENEROUS MARIA Something Weird

Cloud Catchers was a rock band hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden. Operating between 1990 and 1996 the band released two albums: Beyond Yellow (1993) and Itch (1995), a CD EP (Can´t You See) and a CD single (Let It Flow), all out on Nonstop Records.

Some might say Cloud Catchers originated from the band Marionet, but with almost every position in the band replaced with new members, only singer Göran Florström and keyboard player Mikael Bodling remaining, it was a totally new band emerging around 1990. Moreover, two members, Johan Andersson and Dennis Staaf, came from the band Alias Smith & Jones.

Together with Göran Florström, the new musical prime mover Johan Andersson (later Granat) wrote loads of fantastic new material for the two albums Beyond Yellow and Itch.

The band´s lineup looked like this at the time of the first album, Beyond Yellow:

Johan Andersson – bass guitar
Mikael Bodling – keyboards
Dennis Staaf – drums, percussion
Anja Ryne – vocals

By the time of the second album, Itch, the lineup was a little bit altered:

Göran Florström – lead vocals
Nils Kjerstadius – guitars
Johan Andersson – bass guitar
Dennis Staaf – drums, percussion

Cloud Catchers recieved awesome reviews both in Sweden and abroad and although the albums were great artistic successes they failed to be financial ones. In 1996 the band folded.

However, Jesper Klarqvist, who played guitar on Beyond Yellow, and singer Göran Florström met a few years later when Göran joined the heavy rock act Generous Maria which was just getting off the ground with Jesper at the helm, now the bass player of the group. The rest is history.

After the band crumbled, around 1996, Johan Andersson and Göran Florström went into the studio in order to record a couple of songs they´d recently written, with Dan Johansson playing the drums and Johan playing all the rest; guitars, bass guitar and keyboards.
The result was the songs Let´s Explode and Love To See You Miserable. These tracks never got a proper release, so here they are, twentytwo years later, published for the first time.
