Call it Glitch Hop or Turbo Crunk with a Nitrogen Booster, these are uber-funky tough crunk dance beats  from an artist that knows his bass and takes full advantage of pumping it out there.

Last year was a big year for Subvert releasing on Muti Music, Punch Drunk and Rottun Recordings. His ‘Dirt Nap’ EP rocked the Addictech and Beatport ‘Grime / Dubstep’ charts and lead to him being featured in XLR8R magazine and radio play on multiple urban music shows.
This year appears to be an even hotter one for Subvert with a US & Canada tour and major festival bookings and this all new 4 track EP that will rattle a building off it’s foundations if given half the chance.
Subvert hails from Calgary, Alberta and his winding path in music started in 1996. Proof of his dedication to ‘bass’ is in his track record of creating the world’s loudest competition vehicles, designing pK’s 90,000 watt sound system and managing the Village Stage at Shambhala Music Festival. He started DJing in 2000 and combined with his extensive work on sound systems and attention to precision sound, he was ultimately & naturally led down the path to creating his own music productions and once again the low frequencies consumed him. Subvert’s sound is a combination of throbbing, relentless basslines, melodic strings and haunting pianos singing through midtempo glitch / acid crunk and dubstep. His attention to detail and the ability to tune into ‘bass that works on a sound-system ’ can be felt in all of his music productions, he is an expert in the subsonic, the crowd and the show.

Expect dubstep, drumstep and everything in between in this immense 20-track offering as "Sub 150" delves into the medical records of releases past and recruits fresh blood for releases future. Known primarily as a drum+bass label, there have always been a plethora of other genres and styles on offer on the Hospital, with releases extending deep and wide into what has become known more recently as "bass music", from some of the pioneers of what has become known as "dubstep" (the likes of Phuturistix and Darqwan), to the more recent alternative offerings from big guns Netsky, Logistics and Camo & Krooked.

The Guardian's "Band of the week" Submerse brings the classic garage flavours with his superb "This Time You're Wrong", while Other Echoes, the youngest of the Gresham brothers, makes his debut on Hospital with spaced out dubstep riddim "Quantum Spectrum (feat. Tim Parker)". 

Proving there's always been more to Hospital than meets the eye, this collection of past and present hits plunges below the 150bpm mark. Prepare to be immersed.

I knew I had to make a track based on where half [of] all evil things spawn up from, so up from the dirt comes “The Grave Yard”, an anthem for all things dead and rising. The synths during the builds are semi-reminiscent of classic zombie analog soundtrack riffs while the bass is screaming at the top of its lungs.”

The full-length LP mixes up a sub-slaughter potion of gruesome proportions as the essential soundtrack for the Halloween season.
