With acclaimed singles out on All Centre and TT, dozens of DJ and live gigs still resonating from the pre-pandemic era, and tracks frequently praised in shows by the likes of Rian Treanor or Beatrice Dillon, hmurd is one to watch. The rising London-based producer and co-founder of Cherche Encore oscillates from refined club-oriented tracks to beatless, code-leaning compositions, often drawing inspiration from computer games and their environments. Following the narrative of one of his latest self-released EPs 'The Grand Exchange', a collection of reworked themes from the cult MMORPG game RuneScape, he now presents a selection of songs from a soundtrack to a fictional game called 'Flower Knight'.

In this mini-album, hmurd documents glimpses of miscellaneous levels of the title game and its likely tricky challenges. Flower Knight is probably 2D. Well it might be 3D. The world is likely to be hostile to the player. It doesn’t exist so these things don’t need to be certain. Relaxed at times and thrilling the next, the captive nature of the gracefully composed collection underlines the relationship of simplicity and imagination. An immersivity fundamental of the sentiment we often hold of the well-aged titles like RuneScape or ICO, and of the relationships we build with the alternate realities they picture. Those endless runs to drop off your fully-loaded inventory, the sound of your catch cooking above the campfire, another gem obtained, a new level unlocked. One of the joys and satisfactions Flower Knight has to offer may lie in its reoccurrence - revealing itself slowly but steadily. Tone to tone, level to level, XP to XP.

e6c41 is the name of the attending server of Matheus Daniel, a sound/visual artist based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

In his first EP, "Uplifting Chaos", e6c41 writes in the air nostalgic melodies combined with dreamlike sounds, using pop structures dressed up as esoteric club trances, reminding a future that was lost in the past. Born in 2001, the greatest existential question of his generation is how to achieve the perfect cyber-individual, and how to sculpt the perfect imagery in techno marble, to launch it into the frenzy of stimuli that is the timeline world. With many collaborations from all over the globe, the songs reverberate this new world modus operandi, using various hands, computers and scenarios to chisel the gold that is turned into jewelry.

Released by Genome 6.66 MBP, from Shanghai and LogoLogo, from Sao Paulo. Co-produced by Maffalda, Volobodo and Daniel Tupy from Brazil; Avalanche Death from South Korea; innerinnerlife from Poland, "Uplifting Chaos" mix influences of ambient uplifting trance and progressive electronic music, without really needing a specific categorization, embracing the current generation's way of expressing themselves, but never glorifying a speculative future.

From the unstable vessel, a frictionless plateau or runway is witnessed surfacing soon after you piece together the vision, and you begin to slide along it. Wet birds gyre, forming a huge effigy that tells you your new name, sparrowhawk. A chorus and ensemble waver in and out of view as another vast body begins to emerge from below. From the hazy distance, a corps of wind players approach as a series of depth charges detonate, scattering the birds and sky-borne musicians. A purple-clad bombhead throws a sack of apples in your direction, causing you to tumble roll. On resurfacing, the plateau has reorganised itself into a shifting array of cubes and pipes (zadar sea organ mecha). This continues in crescendo, accumulating drumming box jellies, vibrating rubber tubes that straddle the ocean sky barrier, once-distant churches, and -
Cloud cover lowers.you instantly are approaching the lead mines.a fog soaked November.that robin still calls from the hawthorn. . .

June, cumulonimbus warships idle on the horizon, their gun turrets played by a westerly. From along the promenade a miniature wheeled train arrives, hitting a lamppost and, crumpling into the sand digger, becomes a violent mechanic amalgam that methodically untethers the fishing boats, rips up the groins and compacts the beach huts, using telegraph cables and succulent root systems to tie the pieces together into an enormous raft, which it floats out on the waveless channel. As it slowly gondoliers itself away from shore, it performs a plodding series of rotational movements that increase in complexity and variety, the entire form of the amalgam changing at the apex of each movement, and its the central crux eventually dissolving entirely. 5 chinooks arrive from the nearby base, hovering still as officers launch a tirade of artillery at the beast. The heads of selkies bob up between waves, as they attempt to shift the energy through echoing phrases. Eventually the military win, and the beast sinks defeated. The raft continues its journey toward the horizon, sparking intermittently.

FARWARMTH - Amber Weight

EMIT.8 is Canadian fashion designer and decorated judo champion Josh Reim’s debut full-length.

It’s a brooding, melodic work painstakingly sculpted in the Quebec and New Hampshire countryside. The album brings anguish and relief in equal measure, reconstituting human pain in digitized form—like a disembodied nerve system animating a sinewy mech suit. It’s heartfelt and cold, alien and intimate.

The work builds on Reim’s previous project, 2021’s Circadian Rhythm EP, which found harmony between disparate influences like Joyce Manor, Giant Claw, and Bach. EMIT.8 is built on traditional pop structures, rendering gleaming, cybernetic sonic architecture on its foundations. The songs traverse time, penance, faith and the interaction between them, finding a blissed out state of grace in the quest for redemption.

Josh Reim - Invisible Frequency

Celes is an artist based in New York. Her music melds the enigmatic and the technical, traversing uplifting rave performances, crushing drone, synthetic machinations and beyond. She mines hidden, deeply felt emotional territory, capturing and channelling chaotic sensory entities and redirecting them toward a heartstopping emotional release.

Café is her debut Club Paradiso release. The album is a transference of divine energy, bound, distilled and purified. Artificial angels reconstituted from charred selkie matter: strobe haloes, hardcoded virtue sensors, plied and fused mechawings. Brutal cyborgian femininity, a slow-swaying dance on the border of Nothingness and Totality. Café sighs and shimmers like a digital mirage, blissed out and blessed up in equal measure.
