Let us fly into your love, where it feels like resting on clouds.” Here, clouds represent that dreamy state, that feeling of drifting into love’s embrace. 
This cross cultural production is a collaboration between Sidney Simila on vocals and synthesisers, Max Doblhoff on Drums and percussions, featuring the Giriama grooves of the Mijikenda Drums band, with a Dub element fused in. It takes you on a journey, into the very “clouds” that the song is talking about.

MGanga MKuu was originally created & recorded as a part of a Santuri East African workshop during the Sondeka Festival 2014, and released in its original form on Highlife World Series : Kenya in June 2015.
This track has been made available to members of the Santuri network in order to remix and reinterpret, developing and supporting a collaborative East African platform for artists, producers and DJs.
A version of it found its way on to the digital release of the Highlife package 2015, but these two separate mixes courtesy of Max Doblhoff and Clubcruise Music provide a totally different spin on this bonafide Classic.
Doblhoff (DJ, Producer & Musician) himself is a regular visitor to Kenya and has collaborated with many musicians from the Nairobi scene. Here, along with partner Wiesflecker, his Step by Step Remix aims his sights squarely at the Club with a driving groove that highlights Makadem’s powerful vocals high in the Mix.
Elsewhere the two sublime Banda Westfalica (German Percussion Group) mixes provide a more acoustic take, with a shuffling groove and amazing Marimba Sounds.

Max Doblhoff`s releationship to East Africa/Kenya started in 2003 when he first played a Live DJ set in the so called „Club Sikiliza“ at Village Market Nairobi. DJ`s jaming with live musicians is Max Doblhoffs trademark. After inviting and jamming with some local musicians like Idd Aziz on Percussions & Marcy Mira on vocals supported by Funky George on Sax (Austria) , Stoney the Flute (Austria) we had 2 legendary bookings in Nairobi 2003 & 2004. The musical connection between Idd Aziz and East Africa never stopped.

"Saba Bo" refers to the Tom Tom, which was traditionally used in East Africa, which was once used for news transmission and mainly as a warning drum!

Around the same time with the album release of Max Doblhoff's "Africa La", the third single release named "Saba Bo" will be released.
The original track has a strong rhythmic imprint, dominated by the two instruments Tom Tom and Kora - the later almost virtuosic played by the great musician Baboulaye Cissokho, his character of Senegalese origin.
The typical African "Roots-Style", originally originated in Senegal, but developed in further adaptations to Kenyan stylistics.

The version with Idd Aziz is a fusion of funky elements, a subtle electro-disco touch, enriched with contemporary synth-chords.

Other remixes are from Makossa & Megablast and the Viennese newcomer Ksawa and will be completed soon after the single release in July 2017!!

Kithembe’ is a roots chant of call and response praising the mystery of the Kamba drum. Brought together by Kenya’s Post Election Violence of 2007/8, Abaki Simba is a collective of Rastafarians based in Nairobi, teaching unity, peace and environmental action through music.
Kithembe uses proverbs and similes to relay a powerful journey of word and sound in daily living. The song radiates a rhythmic message from the ancestors through their poignant belief in African metaphysics.

Kithembe’ is a roots chant of call and response praising the mystery of the Kamba drum. Brought together by Kenya’s Post Election Violence of 2007/8, Abaki Simba is a collective of Rastafarians based in Nairobi, teaching unity, peace and environmental action through music.
Kithembe uses proverbs and similes to relay a powerful journey of word and sound in daily living. The song radiates a rhythmic message from the ancestors through their poignant belief in African metaphysics.
Kithembe is a message of awareness.
Kithembe is a chant of perspective.
Kithembe is rhythm; rhythm rules the world!
Kithembe is a call to youth to remember their roots in a time of distraction and deceit.

'Groovekompott' is a collective of musicians around Max Doblhoff & Michael Schallmayer who gathered on a farm in Lower Austria called 'Nagelhof' enjoying the summer and music hideout from 2001 to 2010. 
The Groovekompott Music Project: in the midst of the austrian nature provided with the helping hand of the special 'Nagelhof community' a non-profit Mini-Festival emerged over the years spreading the unique spirit of friendship, music and companionship.
The several 'Nagelhof' jams are compiled on the concept album 'Groovekompott recooked 2009'. Each track was also added in a studio version as well as some memorable spoken comments.
What the guests searched for and experienced at the ‘Nagelhof’ was as versatile as the individuals themselves - yet, they were all united by the joy of music and the love for this unconventional ‘Nagelhof’ project. After the property was let for rent sadly the festival series came to an end.

A big bunch of friendly, happy people in the woods gathered around the fire, dancing, drinking, eating and making….music. The ‘Nagelhof’ is what marketing executives want u to imagine you’re getting when they sell you an expensive stadium concert ticket disguised as ‘festival pass’. Come to think of it, the ‘Nagelhof’ really should be kept a secret.”

Vom „Zug fährt ab“ zum „Zug des Lebens“ 
Max Doblhoff: „Ursprünglich hieß das Projekt „Zug fährt ab“ und ist aus der Faszination der Sample Recordings der Wiener U-Bahn entstanden. Im Zuge meiner Recherche, ist mir der Track „ein Zug fährt ab“ von 1928 vom Berliner UFA Tanzorchester aufgefallen. In den 30iger Jahren war ja Swing tanzen verboten, da die Musik stark von afroamerikanischen Einflüssen geprägt war. Das war damals Undergroundmusik und wurde vorwiegend in Clubs gespielt. Letztendlich hat sich aus der Kombination meiner U-Bahn Recordings und den Swing Samples ein ganz neues Projekt entwickelt“ - es trägt den Titel „Train de Vie“. Max Doblhoff über seine aktuellste Veröffentlichung.

Doblhoff & Muck haben die wesentlichen Merkmale, den Charakter und die Melodie des ursprünglichen Songs weitgehend beibehalten und neu interpretiert. Mit seinen französischen Vocals verleiht Thierry Robert der Nummer den perfekten erotischen Feinschliff. Max Doblhoff hinterlässt auch in dieser Produktion seine unverkennbaren jazzig-groovigen Sounds am Schlagzeug.

Georg Barnert aka Funky George studied both the clarinet and saxophone at Conservatories in Vienna and Eisenstadt. He is a member of the 'Baden Theatre Orchestra' and has been teaching at the 'Breitenfurt Music School' since 1995.

He has performed with Lena Rotstein, Dhafer Yussef, Lars Hören, Elisabeth Ziernhöld Lyric & Music Project and his own bands: the ‘Georg Barnert Groove Foundation’, King’s Club Funk Unit, Dinner for 2 and the Diana Menezes Quintet.
