Artistic Freedom – or how Berlin would call it – “Künstlerische Freiheit” aims to reflect what Artminding is about. People, consciousness, variety. Creativity, community and technology!

Chosing a six track various artists vinyl compilation for the label kickoff gives hints in terms of the spectrum of the aspired art inside the electronic music genre. At the same time it illustrates that the platform seeks to produce long lasting outcomes – the black gold will stay for generations and possibly be ultimately found by somebody on a flea market in the middle of nowhere. This is how stories get rewritten and how we understand art. Different minds, different settings, different times. All these circumstances produce compelling perspectives and dynamic visions beyond any geographic or other artificial border. “Künstlerische Freiheit” therefore welcomes international artists like Murat Uncuoglu from Istanbul and Tenvin from as Annett Gapstream and Max von Sternberg.

@murat-uncuoglu from Istanbul contributes with “Limpid Eyes” a howling piece of music art. Soft and demanding at the same time. Perfectly produced. Beyond inspiring in sound and technique.

“Depozit” by Canadian newcomer @tenvinmusic is a pure 124 bpm dancefloor invasion. The compact six minute track already starts very energetic and will lead listeners right into the well deserved feeling of ecstatic body moving.

With “Stellar and me” Berlin based producer and DJ @maxvonsternberg releases his next track on a vinyl. He combines another haunting melody with an all flowing groove. This powerful combination lets his track seem way faster than its actual 118 bpm.

“Chapter A” by Rebellion der Träumer resident Annett Gapstream emphasizes her feeling of a big restart. Time to open your book. Time to begin wherever you would like to. As Annett and also the new label Artminding both start with an A there is even a deeper meaning to this new chapter.

“Opus” by talented @danieledimartino completes the compilation. He combines a marching groove with an in-depth synth and thus almost automatically creates a real body-music-experience for listeners. The impressive and well engineered sound comes right out of his production headquarter at legendary Riverside Studios in Berlin.

He did it again! Producing machine @matchyofficial and his impulsive track “Encounter” set the melodic techno peak of the compilation. This piece begs for reopening clubs and being played in the most heated hour of the night.

Presenting their second release of the year, Pedro Capelossi’s Refraction imprint welcomes Chiari to the label for his debut EP. Healing from Brazil, Chiari first emerged in 2019 on the strength of releases for The Purr and Magician on Duty. With a deep, organic and groovy sound, the Balneário Camboriú resident was quickly tipped as a new artist to watch going forward. The next three calendar years would see Chiari choose his projects wisely, adding Hoomidaas, Seven Villas and Where The Heart Is to his discography, while refining his repertoire with further depth, colour and detail. A remix of Pedro Capelossi’s ‘Horimono’ via Loot Recordings ended 2023 on a high note, ultimately leading to his first release of 2024, and subsequent Refraction debut ‘Plans & Plants’, alongside remixes from Retza and Luis Leon.

"Music can often explain feelings better than words” - something you could also say about the work of the Leipzig based producer, who got into techno music after he moved from his suburb home into the city of Leipzig. Impressed by the diversity of sounds, he started to play DJ Sets and produced his first own tracks in 2013. After exploring various styles under different pseudonyms and improving his productions skills, gradually his taste in music got shaped and led to his alias “Aio”, which was born in early 2016. His music is characterised by variable soundscapes with an eye for detail. After playing his first Live-Sets on Festival and Club Systems he is all set to tell the world his stories.

Microtrauma enjoy a well-earned reputation as a progressive techno act in Germany and beyond with live acts in Argentina, France, Israel and Germany. They redefined melodic techno when they surfaced in 2011 and enjoyed top charts positions at Beatport with many of their releases. So we are happy that we can announce their return to Traum with a new EP. Still, very much at the top of their game, Microtrauma realized they had still something to say and
recorded 4 special trax that can be considered mighty melodic techno tunes that fit perfectly in to our time. Their production has always been flawless and they have been remixed by Max Cooper, Ryan Davis, Egbert, Fairmont, Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile R and more. The EP kicks off with "Rooftop" a baseline driven minimalist beat monster with a truck full of soul. A track you’ll happily surrender too in our opinion. Microtrauma display their polyrhythmic raffinesse
on the basis of 'less is more' and show their appreciation for modern sound design by giving full attention to the single sound.
The title track "Ely" brings together a pleasant and hypnotic groove with vocals which are deconstructed and assembled in an artful manner… you directly get a feeling there are masters at work here. When rotating ‚helicopter‘ sounds speed up you feel that the track has reached the climax and it will not get any better than that. Chilly but immersive in a gentle way. "Fichtelberg" is a soundtracks for a trip through a forest at night. The combination of urgency and
acknowledgment that there is nothing more fantastic than giant trees protecting the soil—this tension is just overwhelming.
The last track of the EP "Arrow" is the most atmospheric and melodic and is definitely more old school in its chemistry.
