Clubsonica Records rounds out the month of November by welcoming Amir Telem to the label for his debut EP. Famed for releases via Kindisch, Movement Recordings, UV Noir and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Equally adept at creating organic, melodic or progressive house, Amir's productions are often borderless, appealing to a broad range of DJs and in turn finding a place on the world's largest dance floors. 2023 has seen Amir operating at his most creative and prolific, landing standout projects for EIN2, Joof Aura, Mango Alley, Manual Music, Rebirth and more. Now, adding Clubsonica to his resume, Amir debuts on the label with ‘Look Inside | Act of Love', alongside remixes from Santiago Luna and Agustin Ficarra. 

Continuing to find a cohesive balance between progressive and melodic house, Amir's ‘Look Inside' lands as one of his most emotive tracks of the year. Geared towards a peak time dance floor, the Israeli's muscular grooves, poignant synth phrasing and heartrending overlays unite in a colourful marriage, ultimately leading to a captivating break. A delicate arp and orbiting effects take centrestage across the interlude, building emotion with each successive pass, before tasteful modulation cues a pulsating drop and transcendent finale. Beneath the powerful waves of ‘Look Inside' lies the equally poignant sounds of ‘Act of Love'. Presenting a confident club energy from the start, Amir's wispy sonics, vibrant chord stabs and airy vocals blanket a smooth key-changing framework. With an effortless drive that could win over even the most discerning of dancefloors, Amir pulls from his expansive repertoire as the main break takes shape, infusing the main melody with emotive swells and precise percussion, as the beats drop for a nostalgic final movement. 

Making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Look Inside' is Santiago Luna. His club-effective take on progressive house has found favour with the world's most highly-regarded DJs, such as Armin Van Buuren, John OO Fleming, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Thomas and more; while Armada Music, JOOF Recordings, Perfecto, Enhanced, Freegrant Music and Mango Alley have all been vehicles for his main room approach. Now, Santiago makes an impressive Clubsonica debut with a thrilling rendition of ‘Look Inside'. Smooth and energetic throughout, the Mexican artist opts for a big, bold and magnificent approach, for what results in a euphoric six-minute journey. Beefy bass stabs, heavenly vocal wails and a forest of finely tuned percussion unite across the first act, perfectly setting up a heartfelt break. The main theme takes centrestage here, sitting in all its poignant glory, perfectly processed for maximum emotional response, as a rush of drums cues an impassioned conclusion.

The release concludes with Agustin Ficarra also making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Act of Love'. On the strength of early releases the Argentine established a distinct progressive sound based around melody and groove; one which would find favour with genre trendsetters Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Tipped as a name to watch moving forward, Agustin would find further success across the next three calendar years, landing key projects for renowned imprints such as Plattenbank, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Agustin now adds Clubsonica to his resume with a dubbed out rendition of ‘Act of Love'. Built around a deep thumping framework, Agustin focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of swinging percussion and timely effects. Looking to bring greater atmospheric depth, the main break unveils a cavernous cinematic soundscape, expertly emerging from foggy effects and percussive rides, before segueing into a dark groove-centric finale to round out the release in style.

A seasoned pairing, EANP have been powerful proponents of the Progressive House scene for a decade and nearly 200 production credits. Now making their Meanwhile debut, “The Other Side / Uncut Gems / Atoms” showcases a triumphant partnership.

Combining the talents of Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca, the Argentinean duo have been working together since 2014. Both respected DJs and producers in their own rights, they have performed behind the decks throughout their homeland alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Muir. Similarly, a sparkling portfolio has seen a plethora of original and remix material feature on the likes of Mango Alley, Juicebox Music, Reminiscence Recordings and Replug.

Joining forces with fellow countryman and legendary figure of Juan Deminicis on the opener, “The Other Side” is a chunky driving number that revels in a gently shifting percussive groove that forms a strong backbone for a series of cadenced melodic components to sit atop with majestic ease. Building a more intense head-shaking groove with every movement, effected vocal phrases add to the intensity while languid and unhurried pads add subtle juxtaposition to the dynamic dancefloor structures. The result is a stunning progressive treasure that is certain to find favour with the DJ elite.

Striding out on their own EANP continue the fizzing percussive urgency via “Uncut Gems” as shakers and closed hi-hats swing across the near 9-minute piece with club-friendly energy. A seismic sub-bass groove adds to the forceful character while Tech House characteristics shine through with angular effects and well-placed synth stab. A smooth arpeggiated sequence comes to the fore at the mid-point alongside a new melodic character as it extends into the third movement to create a hard-edged modern Progressive House jewel.

The final track finds “Atoms” creating a dominant rhythmic framework that subtly comes to life through use of a muted synth motif in perfectly metrical syncopation. A deep sub-bassline adds to the story as the track builds through its phases with swirling white-noise washes and whistling wind-effects adding atmosphere and a haunting quality. Dropping back into the devastating hypnotic groove in the second half, “Atoms” is full of atomic authority.

Taking the modern progressive house scene to new heights with its deep and tech influences, EANP have illustrated that the grass is greener on “The Other Side” with “Uncut Gems” and “Atoms” combining to make an impressive triptych.

Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Maze 28 and TEELCO to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has emerged as one of his country's most hotly tipped progressive house artists. In just three short years the Durres resident has earned support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while his melodic creations have found a home on Clubsonica, iNU, Juicebox Music, RKP and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. Meanwhile, fellow countryman TEELCO has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade. Noted for his deep melodic sound, the Tirana resident first emerged on the strength of tracks for Balkan Connection's BC2 and Soundteller Records, making him a name to watch going forward. The next decade would see TEELCO further hone his craft and notch standout releases for Deep Down Music, Mango Alley, RKP and Univack, while earning the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Mariano Mellino. Having been paired previously for Mango Alley, Maze 28 and TEELCO now combine their extensive forces once again, with their much anticipated Movement Recordings debut 'Sense'. 

Maze 28 and TEELCO showcase their ever growing creative synergy on the lead selection 'Sense'. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, its rhythmic energies and catchy synths are immediately infectious, perfectly anchored by a warm key changing groove for maximum emotional response. The break furthers the track's evolution with a spacious approach, letting the lead breathe against a backdrop of warm textural drifts and poignant bass swells, before an intense build sparks a huge finale to send people home with a smile. 

'Seekers' continues the EP's peaktime appeal with a similarly energetic approach. Here, Maze 28 and TEELCO add a great sense of space with electric lines taking centre stage atop charged beats and full rolling basslines. Nostalgic in nature and mood, its supreme flow not only makes for a perfect mid-set style track but also furthers the emotive lean of the release. 

The release concludes with the lush sounds of 'Kintsugi'. With a backbone of tough kick drums and chunky rhythms, comes an air of shapeshifting atmospheres and subtle but heartfelt melodies, resulting in the ultimate goosebump worthy vibe. Staying true to its title, the main break delights with a backbone of breakbeat percussion setting the stage for an oriental-themed melody to round out the EP on a feel good note.
