3FD004 brings together two friends from Denmark for a split EP built around UK bass sounds with strong dubstep and UK garage influences.
Easy Touch (JONGPADAWAN’s fresh new ID) starts off the A-side with “Aerosol”—the voodoo-ish windswept voicy lead and the italo-birds are singing along with the sleek 2-step beat and the slow resonating sub. A2 “Vertikal'' speeds up the intensity: the punchy drums combined with the powerful steady bassline are hitting us right where they should while the vocal sample and the stabs are spreading an euphoric groove.
On the flip side, DJ I.D transports us into his dark universe. With a rolling beat, a crispy snare, and roaring bassline stabs, the B1 “Just Let It Happen” inhales and exhales a mysterious energy. To close the EP, the Danish artist is remixing himself, combining the heavy drive of DJ I.D with the hearty touch of DJ Sports.

For the second release in our Re-Issue Series we’ve teamed up with London duo Euphonic for a cherry picked deep dive into their back catalogue exploring some of their finest works, fusing Jungle, Breaks, and Down Tempo with unique programming, bass lines and traditional jazz/blues instrumentation.

“Low Orbit Archives” features a number of artists whom they have collaborated with since the project's inception back in 1997, including dr. Israel, Soothsayer, Kirsty Rock and Neech. Euphonic is led by producer Rob Henry and former Graffiti artist turned DJ, Nick Trimm.

The “Low Orbit Archives” compilation continues, following Part 1 of the projects recently released 10" vinyl "Jah Science", with an additional 8 tracks spread across the 12” and digital exclusives. The release aims to offer a wide but cohesive spectrum of genres and styles for audio lovers and record collectors. All tracks have been unearthed from CD, Vinyl and DAT, and newly remastered.

To honour the frequent mood changes and feelings of relative isolation experienced in the last 2 years, the A side aims to reconnect those lost moments with "Déjà Vu" & "Future Retro" - both tracks channelling a UK centric sound for the dancefloor and a further proof of the depth and quality found across Pugilist's back catalogue. The B side flaunts a completely parallelled sound palette with "Static", a down tempo dubby track partnered by the beautifully stylish "Sky Blue". This was another one of those rare moments when I listen to a straight up demo cold and just instantly know that it’s completely and utterly right for the label. Qant ( @qqantt ) served me up some eyes down, impeccably produced bass heavy slices of pie and I was gobbling them down before you could say extra mozzarella.

Big beats, big bass and enough bleep bloops to set up a satellite business.

It was only a matter of time before Bristol’s most exciting purveyor of fast-not-hard atmospheric jungle landed on Time Is Now. Artificial Red - otherwise known as George Young - specialises in the genre’s softer side, with each release immersing its listener in transcendental worlds that seem at once mechanical and organic. Time Is Now Whte Vol.23 is jungle with colour - watercolour - each track stained with shades of orange, yellow, blue and green. Whilst some feature raw percussive techniques to give them a raucous, club-focused edge, others incorporate soulful female vocals and keep things minimal. One of the UK's freshest emerging dance music labels, responsible for stalwart releases from Special Request and Nightwave, return for their 19th release.

The succinct beats of Pugilist have perked the ears of labels like Whities, 3024 and Trule to name but a few. And having previously featured on volume one of the label's new 'EleVAte' compilation series, among artists like Otik, Appleblim and Commix, he returns to the imprint for his first, full four-tracker; 'Siphon'.

The title track, Siphon, blasts through with authentic jungle chops, scattered together asymmetrically like a beautiful chaotic tapestry.

'Regrowth' is a swung garage stepper, jammed live on a 909 with earthquaking low-end frequencies that warmingly morph from underneath.

On remix duties of 'Siphon', is no other than Lobster Theremin alumni, Coco Bryce. With surreal, microprocessing of the heavyweight blows from the original, he also resamples time-stretched speech samples to devastating effect.

'Nightshade' closes out the record with its steadfast amen rinse-out and pokey 808 subs, concluding one of the most forward-thinking and new-school jungle records for the label, all the while serving as an exemplary ode to the old-school.

Quarantine Sonic Squad is a collective uniting many electronic producers and musical activists in France (and beyond), born under the epidemic era and brought together by Tim Karbon. Its aim is to create a musical corpus that has its roots in today's electronic / club music phenomenon, regardless of genre attributions of any kind.

QSS VOL. 2 "LOCKDOWN COMBAT" is our new militant album, following the initial "DAL de Vivre" project which was thought as a musical tool to gather funds and waving public attention upon bad housing problematics in France, increased by the COVID-19 pandemic. This first opus was released in May 1st of 2020 & quickly gained critical / media acclaim from the like of Resident Advisor, CouvreXChefs, SeekSickSound, Dure Vie...

After uniting our energies to work with the DAL - Droit Au Logement ("right to housing") french association, which is helping oppressed and homeless people to get safe spaces to live in, we are now joining forces with the BAAM, another solidarity collective based in Paris. They are providing to all refugees & migrants a juridic, cultural and social support through french classes, administrative help and housing solutions, among many other things. They have also created a LGBTQIA+ safe-space for asylum seekers facing daily homophobia or transphobia.

This 49-tracks album is our personal tribute to all the people threatened by governmental actions with the hunting of refugees, to all victims of police brutality & systemic racism. Spreading sonic love to all our brothers and sisters who face state violence and neoliberal laws that place economic growth of the few above the right to live with dignity for all human beings. The whole piece will be exclusively downloadable on Bandcamp for a low price, with all funds going to the BAAM to help them on militant and activism aspects.
