I played a gig recently in june and got the recording... and i just didnt think it was great. it wasnt received poorly in the moment at the gig, that was all fine. but as a recording where i played 80/20 digital/vinyl, i just dont think it should have been that "jarring". im not super harsh on myself and i have learned to move on over time in this aspect.  i shared it with a friend and he said "oh dont  sweat it, it went well in the moment" - sure, like i said, it did.  but i would not be happy or "proud" putting it out.  fine. whatever. 
anyway, i kinda was not over it. so i decided to record a mix at home, this time 80/20 vinyl/digital. i got to pull old records that i havent seen or played in a while as well as some of the most recent music ive bought. 


the mix is dedicated to those peeps that care enough to: 
1. keep me in check
2. inspire me to do better; not better than 'others' BUT just, improve myself.

The series Importes, Etc. is highlighting the raw asthetics of House from early to the end of the 80ies, early 90ies. Importes, Etc. was an influencial record store in Chicago, opened in 1981. It had a section called Warehouse Music, hinting to the famous club Warehouse, which is widely acknowledged to be the birthplace of House under its first musical director, Frankie Knuckles. This section was later shortened to House by one of their employees, Chip E. , who released a track called "Its House" in 1985.

A mystery of love featuring tracks by Jamie Principle, Delroy Edwards, Gene Hunt, Nick Non Stop, Traxx, Kevin Starke, Phuture, Quest and more.

I had many different opportunities to also learn from some great Dj's from Little louie Vega, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Red Alert, Eric Morillo, & Tony Humphries who i worked for under The Record Label Yellorange Records. Then of course was the clubs, 1018, Red Zones, Mars, The World,The Loft,The Palladium,The Underground so many to name. I also lived in Germany for 5 years playing anywhere and to any who was willing to listen. I always try to play music a different way and put my own spin on some tracks.
