@g-k-machine : At first I decided to only pick records that existed prior to 2015, the year the label started. In other words I interpreted it as using the mix as an opportunity to showcase what HAD inspired its birth. Then I thought, fuck this weird limitation I’ve imposed on myself….there is so much great music being released NOW that I want to put on it. Besides, the label is constantly evolving so it would be weird to say the influences stopped after the label started. So in the end it encapsulated as much as I could possibly bring into it and despite it’s diversity, it’s still quite niche…….

Joseph Tagliabue : This mix represents music that I loved over the years. It was very difficult for me to put together music that influenced me, because it'd be too much. In this selection you can find music from Italian artists only, from different periods 1972 to 2019. The key was to chose records that impressed me particularly from the first listening, that aroused in me strong sensations and filled me with emotions, positive and negative too. It’s like a back path where you can find part of the music I came across in the years and which have enriched me a lot and deeply inspired me as an artist and music producer.

Veslemes : 13 tracks, no real mixing, from artists that truly shaped my sound. I have this habit of juxtaposing many genres in a single album of mine. Most people find it difficult to jump. 

From an acoustic ballad to a dry techno and then to a musique concrète piece. But this is the way I feel the music and its reflected also in this mix.

"This is not really a “dj” mix…the styles are too diverse to make any coherent segueing possible except on a couple of occasions, with music ranging from the dark melancholic experimentalism of Einstürzende Neubauten to the uplifting polyrhythmic songs of Zawose Queens…and a multitude of styles in between. 

In my opinion a wide range of styles fits the purpose of radio better than a DJ mix…but, in truth, I’m probably just finding an excuse to justify the many moods I’m experiencing lately. And I bought a new A9 mixer recently which allows for an external effects send so I plugged in my Space Echo pedal which I usually use with live shows and tried to blend the unblendable behind a wash of delays and feedback! I hope you enjoy the journey."

Invisible, Inc. is a Glasgow based record label and party run by GK Machine, aka Gordon Mackinnon. It originally began as a means to release his own music but has since evolved into something bigger very quickly. The label remains relatively low key, with little hype and attention, however in 2015 alone released eight ep / lp's. The sound of the label is vast and varied which could be said to pay homage to those who have adopted a similar style within the city such as Optimo. There is little structured musical policy and each release is different from the last. Invisible, Inc. is on to something which is clear from the way Gordon speaks and this hour and a half mix of diverse, odd, intriguing music.
