At a time of gathering momentum, ALPHA is rereleasing 14 seminal recordings in a collection called, quite simply, ALPHA
COLLECTION.
This series brings together the finest Baroque recordings from the Alpha and ZZT catalogues: discs singled out for honours,
emblematic artists of music from that period, recordings that marked the discography...
This is also the occasion to discover or rediscover universally known works as well as world premiere recordings of rarities.
In the framework of these rereleases, the performers have been interviewed and bear witness to their view of the work and

"زارلینو" (۱۵۹۰-۱۵۱۷) آهنگساز و موسیقی دان ایتالیایی بی‌شک یکی‌ از معروفترین تئوریسین‌های موسیقی دوره رنسانس بحساب میاید. مقالات او شامل مباحث مهمی‌ در آشنایی‌ با کنترپوآن و بررسی کوک‌های مختلف سازی است، که هنوز هم مرجع مهمی‌ محسوب میشوند - شاید بتوان زارلینو را نخستین کسی‌ دانست که به اهمیت تفکر آکوردی و پیدایش هارمونی [در مقابل تفکر رایج کنترپوآنتیک] پی‌ بُرد -

در اینجا برای نمونه، یکی‌ از ساخته‌های او را معرفی‌ می‌کنیم که برای گروه کر نوشته شده است - بنگرید که چگونه تمام خطوط موسیقیایی علی‌رغم پیچیدگی‌ ساختار، اما روشن و واضح به گوش میرسند

مومان چهارم از کوارتت زهی شماره ۱ در فا مینور - از آهنگساز کمتر شناخته شده فرانسوی " فلیسین سزار دیوید" (۱۸۷۶-۱۸۱۰) - [موومان چهارم] دارای تمی است که می‌توان آنرا موسیقی رقص روستایی نامید، از این نظر شاید بتوان این موومان را با موومان‌های مشابه در آثار ابتدایی بتهون و هایدن مقایسه کرد - "دوید" قسمتی‌ از عمر خویش را در مصر گذراند و متأسفانه بسیاری از آثار او پس از فوت او منتشر شدند، حتا همین امروز هم اجراهای محدودی از آثار او یافت میشوند - اگر چه کوارتت زهی شماره ۱ [همین اثر] در زمان حیات آهنگساز منتشر شده است - این اثر به دوست صمیمی‌ آهنگساز "آلکسیس آزودو" تقدیم شده است

اجرای حاضر در سال ۲۰۱۲  توسط کوارتت کامبینی-پاریس ضبط و منتشر شده است
