Sudany is the first single of Sofie Birch and Antonina Nowacka's collaborative album Languoria. The full album releases 7 November.

Languoria is a collaboration between Denmark’s Sofie Birch and Poland’s Antonina Nowacka. While Birch describes herself as an ambient musician, Nowacka’’s primary instrument is her own voice; they share in common a facility for creating complex, layered work.

Birch and Nowacka were first brought together by Unsound to perform at Ephemera Festival in Warsaw as part of a durational overnight performance. Entirely improvised, the music already felt coherent, with Nowacka’s voice weaving effortlessly through Birch’s ambient soundscapes and field recordings, indicating an immediate, deep connection, a meeting of kindred spirits. The artists were reunited at Unsound Kraków to perform a morning show at a 19th-century synagogue. Here, the music took clearer shape, and the audience glimpsed the birth of works that would eventually take the form of individual tracks on Languoria.

This past winter, the two artists met in Copenhagen to record the album, completing 11 compositions that feel sacred, almost devotional in character. Fusing the melodicism and gentleness of Birch’s sound practice and the abstract, spiritual vocalisations of Nowacka, the album alludes to the wonders of the natural world while also turning its gaze inwards. “When working together, every small decision was very important, and that’s why such simple compositions can hold so much complexity and depth,” Sofie Birch says of their time in Copenhagen together. Contemplative, meditative and awe-inspiring in equal measure, Languoria is a breathtaking collaborative debut. Together, these artists have uncovered a new dimension of their respective practices, creating music that is difficult to categorise, otherworldly, yet strangely comforting.

@norfik is a project by Jeff Gill a prolific Chicago based producer and musician. Tracing a line from new age and midwestern soul, through to the hardcore continuum and beyond; Norfik mixes styles to create a sound entirely his own.

“Realization”, is the examination of a paradigm shift. This EP is very introspective and personal, but not in an unrelatable or navel gazing sort of way. As with a lot of great art, it feels more like being invited into the artists personal space where you get comfortable and slowly begin to peer into the their imagination. You hear their thoughts, feel their emotions, and you see their point of view. That is to say this album is as warm and inviting, as it is expansive and crystalline.

We have all experienced light bulb moments that seem to challenge our preconceived ideas and outlooks. These wellsprings can come on suddenly or slowly bubble under the surface. Epiphanies allow us to rise above our day to day consciousness in pursuit of revelations and realizations which drastically change our perspectives and values. These moments of sudden clarity can drastically alter our character and who we are. Walls are removed and where the enclosures once stood are now new views and perspectives from which to see.

So whether you are walking around a city, lost deep in meditation, or excitedly dancing in a club please realize that you won't have to find your purpose, it will find you.

Paralaxe Editions is based in Barcelona, and Ylia (a.k.a. Susana Hernández) has long been one of the city's most well-regarded musicians. A classically trained pianist who came of age DJing breakbeat raves in Andalucia, she easily maneuvers between disparate scenes and styles; she's as comfortable dropping electro and techno records as she is performing alongside experimental flamenco artist Niño de Elche (she's a member of his touring band).

Following her appearances on labels such as Lapsus and Hivern Discs, Dulce Rendición is Ylia's first full-length effort, a cinematic collection of meditative and richly melodic tracks that largely grew out of her intimate live sets. Weaving together analog synths, field recordings and fragments of her own voice, much of the music was directly inspired by her dreams—and more specifically, the seemingly impossible sights and sounds that populated them. Working to recreate their lingering silhouettes in the light of day, Ylia oscillated between moments of deep introspection and playful fantasy as she settled into the hazy space between sleep and consciousness.
