more eaze (@moreeaze) is the project of composer/multi-instrumentalist mari maurice. her work touches upon myriad genres and often explores themes of gender, identity, intimacy, perception, and the mundane. her compositions have been widely released on a number of international labels including orange milk (@orangemilk), astral spirits (@astral-spirits-records), phinery (@phinery), and lillerne tapes (@lillerne) among others. maurice regularly collaborates with artists such as claire rousay (@clairerousay), dntel (@dntel), brin, seth graham (@sethaarongraham), nick zanca (@mister-lies) and ben bondy (@benbondy).

The time has come once again to make a potpourri of my productions.
Every time I make a new one, it’s a small proud moment of still being able to make music that I can stand behind – it’s now been three decades since I started, and it’s not always easy!

2021 has been an interesting year in the world of Techno as we came out of Lockdown it was quickly back to business.

Things have defiantly got a lot faster, in some cases you can question if it is even Techno anymore. Regardless, the scene seems to be thriving which is great to see. 

This month podcast number 10 I am very happy to bring you someone who has always kept it real, Voicedrone. He needs little introduction, a true legend on the scene, co founder of London’s now notorious and well established club FOLD and also an artist here on ETG. 

As a club owner Voicedrone is a rarity his relentless passion and drive to create something special with FOLD has brought together untold groups and communities from across the UK and beyond. 

First and foremost music always comes first! 

As a producer and Dj he is very capable in both counts. His sets are explosive, dark and move very tightly between styles of Electronica and Techno. Production wise his equal obsession with the sound you hear with FOLD's bespoke Sound System is also demonstrated in the studio.

Coming up in the not too distant future expect to see him up on FOLD Records as well as back on EarToGround alongside myself with remix action from Works Unit AKA Cleric and Reflec

So for this Christmas end of year special here is a brutal LIVE recoding of Voicedrone from the recent Telehaus party at FOLD.

One of the great powers music has is to synchronize our senses with a specific place, time, and feeling. Anja Zaube utilizes this aspect well, whether it be through her blissfully cathartic DJ sets or her intentional and well-executed live sets. Here we are presented with the latter,  an excursion into the depths of Anja's personal sonic universe that brings us into the elements and out of the body. Layered with thickets of field recordings, live synth work, and delicately pulsating percussion, it plays as one long-form piece that gradually shifts and seduces the mind. With close ties to ://about blank and the Berlin underground, Anja channels a certain mystique and sound that is characteristic of all that goes on here. So lose yourself in this special live edition of UNRUSH and feel time start to slip away...

Kaibosh No.29: Deep Techno Session | Sagittarius

2020, in my opinion, was an amazing year for ambient music. I don't know if it was simply the right conditions due to the pandemic and producers being stuck at home, or if I'm just starting to notice stuff more, but I ended up buying more ambient than I ever have. I have loads of it on wishlists for future purchases as well on Bandcamp and record store sites. 

For this mix, I compiled some of my favorite ambient tracks that I bought on vinyl this year, all of which I believe were released this year. There are so many good ambient releases that aren't released on vinyl, so I wouldn't necessarily consider all of these my top favorites of the year, but they're all certainly up there. 

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, and let's hope 2021 is a better year altogether ;). Happy New Year!
