not an artist fixed to one finite plain - he is fluid and adaptable in his approach to electronic music. During his formative years he began by exploring the subtleties of dubstep and modern bass music.
After moving to Berlin his horizons broadened, becoming fascinated with the complexity of techno music, and he set forth on a mission to diversify his sound.

Part of the Munich based label io records, @mordiomusic has been producing music for over 10 years and using using modular synthesizers for the last 6. His love of sharing moments of exciting discovery had him start a YouTube channel, showing all his tricks and helping people make more music. A master of innovation, he recently teamed up with a friend to develop and build a virtual club Projekt_1Q84 host events for listeners and VR dancers.

Tale of a Sacred Dance Podcast #43 una entrega más de un artista local, nos preparamos para una sesión de techno íntimo para este capítulo:

Asmodeo es un artista de nuestra ciudad Bogotá, dj y producto, que ha dedicado su carrera a la producción de techno, como nos gusta con raíces hipnóticas, mentales con fuerte influencia en el ambient y el industrial. 

Tras varios años trabajando en el género ha fichado en sellos de todo el mundo como Black Line Recordings de Francia, Insane Industry de Italia, Kusiya Records de Argentina, entre otros.

Aprovecho la crisis sanitaria de los pasados años para juntarse a varios artistas en donde desarrolló podcasts con una de sus marcas llamada Parallel, logrando la participación de artistas de varios subgéneros de la música electrónica, abriendo la posibilidad a artistas emergentes.

En 2023, decide formar y fundar su propio sello discográfico llamado Hypnotism Records, con el cual espera dar espacio a todos los artistas que reúnan el carácter y sonido que caracteriza al subgénero que ama y le gusta producir, siendo Hipnótico y ambient combinados. en un solo, enfocado a la pista de baile, para lograr un estilo "Loop" y "Experimental" para que tanto el público como el Dj puedan disfrutarlo.

Chris Liebing is synonymous with techno. His legacy is long assured, but his craft never stops evolving. Whether as label head, podcast curator, DJ or producer, he continues to challenge himself and his audience to explore new realms in the electronic world. And often ahead of the curve, too, from the early, hard-edged and loopy 90s sound which is back en vogue today, through his more stripped-back turn of the millennium minimalism and onto the cinematic atmospheres and broader alternative electronica of his latest albums on Mute. It's no stretch to say, then, that Chris Liebing's story is closely connected to the story of techno itself. 

Liebing is considered a global techno ambassador, but his ambitious album projects and direct club tracks excite and innovate as much as any new school star. A proudly forward-thinking attitude ensures that is the case as his DJ tools and studio setup constantly evolve. He continues to be an early adopter of emerging technology, too, just as he was with vinyl controllers, Traktor and when leading the way with full hybrid/live DJing. 

These days, Liebing incorporates an ever wider sphere of sound into his own work. After an eight-year break from full lengths, 2018's Burn Slow on Mute was a creative rebirth that received critical acclaim and confounded all expectations. It was a melancholic mediation on gothic moods, looming apocalyptic landscapes and optimistic broken-beat techno that drew from his childhood love of Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and the New Romantic movement. 

Remixes for Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp followed alongside a collaborative single with Charlotte De Witte, and 2021 brought a second album on Mute, Another Day. It found Liebing exploring all new ways of expressing both his euphoric and melodic side, all with high-grade technical skill and meticulous sonic craft with a range of collaborators from Miles Cooper Seaton to Polly Scattergood. This exceptional form continued into 2023 as he returned to the club with his Love Those Who Fight With Passion And Faith EP on CLR, a passionate and politically charged call to the dance floor that joined Liebing and Luke Slater’s remix of Depeche Mode’s iconic ‘Ghosts Again’ in the first half of the year. 

Though his music is underpinned by pulsating menace and a stomping sense of drama, Liebing himself is friendly with a famous smile. It is the music that motivates him and the freedom that comes with increased experience. These days there are no limits, no expectations, but a continued love for the art and craft of techno that is taking him down all new creative pathways.

Giovani comenzó a presentarse como DJ en 2001 bajo el nombre de Switch en Bogotá, Colombia, tocando en los principales bares de la capital, como La Sala, Monitor, Arena, Barbarela, 4 Rooms, Teatrón, Sub Royal, entre otros. Durante ese tiempo, obtuvo varias residencias, especializándose en secciones de house, electro, breaks, nu school breaks y techno, siempre en formato vinilo. Fue ganador de uno de los primeros concursos de DJ en la ciudad.

Más tarde adoptó el nombre Human Pattern, desarrollando un estilo distintivo enfocado principalmente en breaks, electro y nu school breaks en vinilo.

En 2004, Giovani fue invitado al festival independiente Bogotrax, donde compartió escenario con DJs locales y europeos. Al año siguiente, viajó a París, Francia, donde logró presentarse en lugares emblemáticos de la capital francesa, como Rex Club, Galzart, Le Fleche d’Or, el Festival de Auriculares Le Placard, y Le 4 Sans en Burdeos.

En 2006, Giovani llegó a Nueva York y obtuvo una residencia en Bar 13, en Manhattan. Se unió al colectivo de eventos Biatchcorp, con el cual organizó una serie de eventos destacados, incluyendo los debuts de artistas como Joseph Capriatti, Stephan Bodzin, Perc y Gregor Tresher en la ciudad.

En los años posteriores, Giovani continuó tocando en clubes prominentes de Nueva York, como Cielo, Output y Sullivan Room. Uno de los momentos más especiales de su carrera fue su participación en el Hiro Ballroom, donde realizó el warm-up para una rara presentación de Martin Gore, integrante de Depeche Mode.

Cozi Questions...

1. How and why did you get into producing / dj’ing?
“I’ve always been passionate about this kind of music for over 10 years. Six years ago, I had the opportunity to enroll in a sound engineering university. There, I met a friend who helped me a lot, especially during sessions, teaching me how to produce music. From there, I really focused and began producing my first tracks, releasing them without any big expectations. Little by little, I started gaining more recognition, which eventually led to my first public performance in 2022 at Gare Porto. This opportunity motivated me to continue pursuing this path."

2. Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you’ve been to or experienced and why?
I always find the events at Masada in Milan, especially the Acquario ones, to be the coziest. It’s one of the best places, and the atmosphere is always intimate and family-like, which makes it feel really special.

3. Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert in the scene?
“I would consider myself more introverted, as I’m not someone who actively pushes myself into the spotlight. Sure, I enjoy sending demos to labels, trying out new collaborations, and so on, but when it comes to gigs, I prefer to stay in my own space and wait for opportunities to come to me, especially since I don’t have a booking agency yet, so I don’t feel comfortable pushing myself too much.”

4. If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever, what would it be?
So hard to pick one but lately I’ve been obsessed with Camber by Glances

5. What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? Do you have any special remedies/ mental/physical prep/ places to go to? 🙂
“I don’t have a specific routine, but when it comes to production, I need to find some inspiration first, whether it’s by experimenting with new sounds or trying out new patches in VCV Rack. From there, things usually flow. 
As for gigs, I try to gather information about the club, the vibe, and when exactly I’ll be performing during the night. This helps me stay as coherent as possible with the set, while also adding a bit of craziness to keep things interesting 🙂

Gareth’s story begun in 1992 during the early years of Jungle. By 94 he had developed a very strong addiction to vinyl and London’s underground rave culture. 
As the years progressed his musical tastes developed to Techno a genre he defiantly pushes in the face of adversity.

Label owner of EarToGround Records and LDNwht. Resident DJ at FOLD and label artist at FOLD Records he has also released on legendary labels such as Soma, Projekts and Granulart and has recently been remixed by Oscar Mulero. 

FOLD, Tresor, fabric, Gare, and Corsica Studios are a few of the many clubs he has demonstrated his ability, energy and full dynamic range.

Fast. Impulsive. Techno. Three words to establish and define what Egotot, the founder of the infamous @schimmerrecords, is all about. The young musician, hailing from the deep south of Germany, sets quite the pace when it comes to his vision of electronic music, regarding both tempo as well as quality. This also reflects in this live recording from the Rennbahn event at Halle02 on the 28th of February 2025.

In his own words: 
"This set was recorded during the opening of the Rennbahn event, where I am a resident, in Heidelberg. Starting slow with ambient and deep beats, this set opens the evening for @decka-music as headliner. Browsing through the folders on the stick, I discovered some old collabo tracks with Elias(de) and @franzjager, perfect for a solid start to the night, mixed with some new additions, including ADMINISTRATOR’s next appearance on Schimmer Records' two sub-labels: Groovebox and Liquid One.

It’s always important for me to strike the right note at openings. Taking everyone on a journey, respecting the time and the amount of people in front of me. It’s a challenge because this slot is not the comfort zone for myself, but the most exciting part when it’s successful."

Hd Substance has been exposed to electronics for more than three decades, born in
1970 he lived the 80’s as a teeneger, experiencing in realtime all the synth pop golden era
watching his fIrst Depeche Mode concert at the early age of 15.

Soon he estarts the trio Ballet Mecánico with heavy electronic pop influences, touched
soon by the north european EBM dark wave. After a travel to London in the late 80’s he
discovers Acid House and the rave culture, starting his solo project Hd Substance at the
beginning of the 90’s.

His firt release comes in the compilation Electronic Generators, released by the cult label
Geometrik, home of the anthemical industrial band Esplendor Geometrico. After that
stepping stone he releases a several 12” and two albums on the seminal pop label
Elefant Records during the nineties as well as in labels from all over the world.

During the beginning of the 21th century continues releasing in labels like Primary or
Consigned recordings and gives birth to his label Atlas, gainig great succes in the techno
world. 30 years after he is still here, as dj, producer and journalist, giving all his body and
soul to electronic music. Now running the SUB tl label with Leandro Gámez and touring
the best techno clubs like Berghain, Razzmatazz, Rodnya Moscow, Lola Shanghai or The
Works in Detroit.
