Under the cover of his extra-terrestrial pseudonym, UFO95’s powerful rhythms are the culmination of a life lived around music in many forms. One could say he’s come full circle: as the son of parents who lived above the nightclub they owned and ran when he was younger. Adolescent forays in rock led him to study sound engineering, and eventually right back to the dancefloor, where he now plays exclusively live sets patchworked together from his own productions. From unorthodox beginnings, Killian Vaissade has more than grown into his role. UFO95 is his pandemic-era brainchild, a project that’s taken off at breakneck speed, collaborative works with Mama Told Ya label-boss Anetha, an appearance on Amniote Editions x Mala Junta’s VA compilation and the launch of his very own ARCHIVE imprint (June 2023) just a few of the feats he’s managed to pull off in his short career. Expect more to come in the form of driving, adamantine beats. He later settled on using MZR as his main stage name. Alongside his partner, KETCH, he established the label SYXT, which quickly became known as a vital part of the Berlin techno scene.
