Born in Mexico and raised in L.A., Zama-- a name adopted from a summer trip to his homeland, Zama first appeared on major platforms through 77Ronin's Ch.1 Low Fidelity, an online Music collective he created during the pandemic to bring artists and producers from the U.S., Canada, U.K, and Africa together to create amazing music all brought to life online. Growing up Zama's first introduction to music was his Mom's Spanish Rock bands and Latin Pop. This love for music quickly spread to hip-hop, Rock, and Punk furthering his love for music. During his time at UCSB his long standing love for Hip-Hop and Punk drove him to set up his very own makeshift studio where he released his first single 1475 on July 7, 2018 through SoundCloud. An emotional track driven by anger and grief for the Latin immigrant children lost under the "protection" of border patrol. Only signed to himself and his craft the future is bright for L.A native Zama.
