The fresh #abstract_hiphop / #lofi album from the Moscow project Surmachina (@surmachine) consists of tracks recorded from 2020 to 2022 and is united by a reflection on the theme of the metropolis and its suburbs. The music was created in different areas of Moscow suburbs, without using a computer - on samplers (Elektron Digitakt, Model Samples, Roland Sp 404 Mk2) and iPad.

This is the third mix of "Music from Label Cantroll 2024" by RON KEANE released especially for radiOzora. All tracks of this hour long mix are released on Label Cantroll. The mix features resident tracks, this time in abstract hip-hop genre. Label Cantroll is a music label that has been producing downtempo, trip-hop, electronic, chill-hop and abstract hip-hop releases since 2008. Interpretations of nine tracks from 15 different years by 15 different musicians. This is reflected in the album title. The album was released on Label Cantroll.

The announcement single for Paradeigma's album of collaborative tracks, "Collective Creation, Part 2," marks Paradeigma's return after three years.

About the artists:

Since 2007, Paradeigma has been composing strange music that balances several facets: unconventional electronica that periodically mutates into abstract hip-hop or experimental downtempo with a touch of funk. The tracks lack vocals, yet the music often has a life-affirming and creative tone. The main instruments are guitars, synthesizers, and samples from 80s records. Voice inserts are occasionally present, and much attention is paid to experimenting with the rhythm section. Paradeigma is a trio, a duo, and a solo project, with Mark Shishlev as the sole permanent member. Mark is also the founder and director of Label Cantroll. Previously, he organized large-scale offline events in Russia's regions: musical, social, and corporate.

RIZA music is a solo musical project by Alexander Bulichev, who resides in Moscow. The project has been around since 2007. Its sound is constantly evolving, incorporating new elements and harmonies that blend into a single flow of vibrations from live and virtual instruments. Rhythmic patterns evolve, while retaining its distinctive characteristics. A resident of Label Cantroll.

Label Cantroll (earlier Cuntroll) is a music label that has been producing downtempo, trip-hop, chill-hop and abstract hip-hop releases since 2008. The label produces the most interesting submitted material from both young and mature musicians. The resident team includes more than 50 bands and artists from all continents of the world.Among the artists can be noted the following projects — Nordgroove, Thiam, Asa Taura, Paradeigma, Arctic Lightz, Decision Space, Plushka, Mr Peel, Zaranka, Ogi feel the Beat, Surmachina and Samsara Inc.
 
The label brings people together, promotes experimental music in Russia, and helps musicians find their listeners. Cantroll does not publish music on physical media, does not do mastering and mixing. The label helps to make an advertising campaign for the album on the Internet. And is the most authoritative music label in Russia in its genres.

The label organizes various contests for authors, collaborations with Jamendo, VK Clips, Groover and other platforms, annual qualifying rounds for international compilations Downtown and Take a Trip. Various thematic entertainment and educational rubrics are published for listeners. There is a 24-hour web-radio.

Resident tracks are played by YouTube-bloggers in conversational and entertaining videos, as well as in commercials for brands: Renault, Doogee, football club Nice, Discovery TV channel, UMMC, Azimut airline, GQ Germany. The main novelties regularly get into rotation on radio stations, curated playlists of VK Music, Yandex Music and other platforms.

Earlier, label head Mark Shishlev organized his own events in different Russian cities: both with the participation of label residents and with reputable European bands. Among the projects we can mention international trip-hop music festivals "Metagalaxy", which united more than 30 bands from different cities and countries (including - Iuno, Micatone, 9Lazy9, Hidden Orchestra, Arts The Beatdoctor, Skiggy Rapz, The Herbaliser, Sofa Surfers, Bugge Wesseltoft, Doctor Flake, Glen Porter, Elsiane, Flunk).
