From chasing waves as a kid in San Diego, to chasing my mind as an adult at Burning Man... it doesn’t matter which one we’re talking about - the Playa will always have a special place in my heart.

Three years ago I released a track called 'Playa Dreams' on my Drum Formulas EP, which was a clear reflection of my soul trying to find my life's purpose. Although I had an idea of what was to come, Desert Hearts was still in its infancy... also trying to find its voice.

It's now 2018 and Desert Hearts is the only future I know. Our purpose of spreading love and positive energy is written in our destiny. I now know I have the power to control energy and have never been more determined to change the world with this message.

I recorded this mix opening the night at our last City Hearts Los Angeles party at The Belasco and all 2.5 hours pretty much span my entire taste in House these days. It starts off chill, but builds and builds and builds.... 

It doesn’t matter which Playa you’re on, this music was made for it.

What’s up Desert Hearts Family,

We’re proud to share with you our 5.5 hour Desert Hearts Crew Closing Set from Monday afternoon at our 2018 Festival. We wanted to kick things off with this mix because the party on Monday is generally our favorite party of each festival. These closing sets are often as eclectic as it gets because we pretty much play anything we want to hear on the Funktion-Ones one last time. It’s also the time when all of our staff and volunteers who’ve been working all weekend are finally off the clock to celebrate one last dance with the family. Word must be getting out about this party because we couldn’t believe how packed the dance floor was at 7:45pm when we finally shut it down. This set was supposed to be 4 hours, but straight up, we didn't want to stop playing. The vibe was too incredible this Desert Hearts and we didn’t want it to end. We hope this journey brings you back to the magic that we all experienced 2 weeks ago. We’re eternally grateful for this community and we love you all. We’ll be trickling out a few sets each month throughout the year so make sure to follow Desert Hearts Records on Soundcloud to relive all the magic.

What's Up Desert Hearts Family,

I'm super proud to share with you my set from Desert Hearts Festival 2018. This was the first time I've played sunset at the fest so I knew I wanted to capture the funk from the daytime and transition into the dark, trippy weirdness at night. This set builds from groovy house into slammin' tech house into straight up techno. I'm super happy how it turned out and there's even a pretty amazing fuck up in there where my Fiancé of all people trips and pauses the CDJ while dancing behind me on stage haha! It's all part of the madness I suppose!

Anyways, this Desert Hearts Festival was by far my favorite one we've ever had. I felt like we were channeling some kind of sacred energy for those 80 hours on the dance floor. It was truly powerful and everywhere I looked I saw the biggest smiles in every direction with a vibe so thick you could cut it with a knife... I think our DH Family is getting pretty good at this! What am I talkin' about our DH Family is THE BEST at this!

One last thing while I've got you here, I've got a new single out on Dirtybird that Sacha Robotti and I are really proud of.
