
Soundguy Josh grew up in Wyoming. Started collecting, djing, and going to “raves” in the late ’90s. Moved to colorado in 2004 and has spent most of his life doing sound at shows. "I just have a passion for old records and love any opportunity to share them with people."  

Rare groove is a style of music from the late ’70s and early ‘80s. Typically combining electronic elements along with live instruments. Often sampled by hip-hop producers and collected by record collectors. Usually not big hits but more sought after because they are funky hidden gems that get dance floors moving. This mix is a collection of rare groove classic house funk and disco. Mostly from that era with the exception of the 79.5 “terrorize my heart” track that is a modern example of the sound.

"This mix is about the records. I know it’s far from technically perfect but I wanted to share it as is.  To me, it just represents collecting and sharing music.

 It’s one take no edits. All vinyl from my personal collection just enjoying records, which is what I’m about. Whether people listen to it and dance, do some chores, go for a run, or just laugh at the mistakes. What I really want is for people to have fun."
