Hopeless is a roleshift AU inspired by the harsh aesthetic of Underfell. The harshness of the character's personalities altered the events following the human-monster conflict, leading to an underground riddled with disarray. That said, at their core everyone is still the classic characters you know and love, even if it's a little harder to see that than usual.

[Hopeless] Change Rests With You

Discontent is a Tubertale-type AU thing. We're not really planning to do much with it, but I wanted this particular track to exist for reasons I can't really explain lmao. YouTube commissioned the Gregory Brothers to make a song *about* YouTube for the site's 8th anniversary, and the fact that it's never been used as the OUAT motif for a Tubertale take is criminal. So now we've fixed that.

We had other stuff planned for today, but due to an abrupt change Toadie decided to slap this together instead. The name is a reference to "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne," and the song itself is a cover of that episode's 8bit intro.

The eccentric Zeno is the protagonist of our story. He thought things were through for him, but the universe had other plans. Only...is it even his universe?

The last post on Zeno's Tumblr (which he used quite often) was a reblog of this post commemorating the 100th anniversary of its initial creation. Every year on November 19 people would reblog it and say "Here's to [x] years of getting Narsty and leaving your friends behind." I happened to check Zeno's Tumblr some time in early 2021 to find that this reblog went up in November. Zeno's funeral was last July, so naturally I was hysterical. I quickly realized that Tumblr has a "scheduled posts" feature, and he probably scheduled this a long time ago when he had no idea that he would soon be getting narsty and leaving his friends behind. I highly doubt he planned it this way on purpose, but if he was watching me from beyond, he probably found that moment very funny. He was fucked up like that. But I figured hey, if he's getting re-introduced into the world, it might as well reference what is in essence his parting remark.

Seems like an update to a track called "A New Chapter" would be a proper celebration for our return!

Aftergore is a series of AUs taking place after Undertale's neutral endings, in which a new human enters in Frisk's wake.
Aftergore II, the Betrayed Undyne ending, details an ending in which Frisk ruins their streak of pacifism right before the end, slaying the celebrity robot Mettaton on live television. Toriel has taken her ex-husband's place after his death, and she struggles to maintain morale in an increasingly wary underground. Humans are to be treated not as enemies, but as friends. At least...in theory.

This will-- unsurprisingly-- be the last Aftergore track of 2020. Figured this would be a good way to end the year-- a new chapter is upon all of us, with a new year finally in sight.

Aftergore is a series of AUs taking place after Undertale's neutral endings, in which a new human enters in Frisk's wake.
Aftergore III, the Exiled Queen ending, details an ending in which only Undyne and Asgore have been killed. Toriel tried to claim the throne, but threats of a coup quickly sent her back to the Ruins. Now the Underground is in a state of instability and semi-anarchy. Humans are to be treated as...well, it's unclear right now, but it's not good.

This version was initially scrapped in favor of the one that went up last time this track was made (or updated? I really can't remember at this point), due to the fact that it might've seemed a bit too ominous at the time. In hindsight this idea - if I do say so myself - was really clever works really well.

Sidenote: there will be uploads every day through January 8th, after which things'll slow down a bit. I'll still try to keep uploads a bit consistent but I unfortunately cannot promise much.
