'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

The artwork was provided by Bill Brown, a Maryland native who lives and works in Ukraine. When the war started, he made his way safely to Germany via Poland. This illustration is an homage to Maria Prymachenko’s “May That Nuclear War be Cursed!”, which also inspired the title of this release. After a stint of regarded releases on Public Possession DJ City returns to Cocktail demote Music with Giuda Iscariota. The title might evoke images of the eternal betrayal but DJ City seems fully devoted to his crowd. Fueled by the distant memory of his regular sets at Cocktail, City touches on an array of moods and styles keeping his foot on the pedal. Giuda Iscariota emulates the selection choices of DJ City during his many sets at the party with a no-nonsense focus on dance floor drivers while Nattens Tysta Timmar slathers on the queer vibe by sounding like a lost Pet Shop Boys deep cut. On the flip Sophies Theme picks up the pace again with acid-laden house grooves and Archeoicae's head down hands up arp driven frenzy.

Unearthed by https://soundcloud.com/obermannkind this LP contains six underground electronic, minimal synth, proto techno & new wave songs of an lost obscure German Tape from 1986. Produced in Münster West Germany, just 50 Tapes were distributed and just a handful are still alive. 
Thanks a lot to Dunkeltier aka https://soundcloud.com/sneakerdj who restored all the tracks. It was really tough job. Even the mastertapes (directly from Mr. Gotling) were in really bad condition.
