I'm a big fan of the band Dans Dans from Belgium. In April 2023 they came to my city to play a concert and I was honored to have played as their support. 

This set was recorded in the Relate Radio studio.

Drawing inspiration from Detroit and Dub Techno, @cecilia_berlin 's musical practice is characterized by a constant groove, depth, and hypnotic atmosphere, taking audiences on multifaceted journeys. She merges her own productions, focusing on analog jams and incorporating field recordings, navigating between decontextualized urban soundscapes and techno. Beyond performing, Cecilia is active in curating events, releases, and exhibitions, co-founding the former open-air club turned independent booking agency, CURA Berlin. In her latest project, "Kotti Island," presented at Kottbusser Tor, she localized field recordings and interviews into a music album released on Tresor Records, alongside a public exhibition offering various perspectives on the neighborhood's life and dynamics.

Franziska Berns was born near Offenbach am Main, Germany. Frankfurt became the inevitable gateway for the art student’s career within the electronic music scene. She began her journey working at Freebase Records Shop, where early exposure to important names of the industry resulted in her first DJ appearances at Sven Väth’s Cocoon Club, delivering a style described by Resident Advisor as “ranging, from minimal breaks, to clever and funky techno”. Through her passion for music and a commitment to a balanced life outside, Berns persevered and became resident at the infamous Club Robert Johnson – a place of longing far beyond its reputation as an institution.

Growing up in Munich, it was the environment of Berlin, and in particular the now defunct underground venue Griessmuehle, that shaped the early sound of Jo, then known as ioth. Influenced by local communities and the international music avant-garde, he shaped the sound that became the Jotel California trademark: Melting together trance, house, acid and electro into a bubbling cauldron of progressive energies. As a DJ, he's proved his mettle on countless club floors and DIY raves he's organised with friends outside Berlin. With releases on labels such as Klasse Wrecks, Inch by Inch and of course his own Warning crew, he quickly made a name for himself among musical connoisseurs and hungry ravers alike.

This is a recording of my set opening the Pandora stage during New Year's Eve at TivoliVredenburg, playtime between 00:10-01:30.

My intention was to start with an inviting, minimal house sound where I could quickly build it up to a more progressive and energizing sound. In the end, I tried to keep it dynamic by using a more genre-blending approach. Hope you’ll enjoy it! :)
