French producer and D.J. Déni Shain started writing music during an 8 year-long musical adventure through the West coast of Africa, Mexico, Spain Portugal and France. 
Now based in Lisbon, his unique hybrid sound joins the dots between Afro-beats, Disco-Funk and groovy breakbeat influences. 

His first EP, released in 2007, featured both French jazz musicians and African vocalists, and was produced by Cryptophyte records and distributed on "Jarring effect" CD1D web Shop , was heavily played by radios around the globe, Africa, Switzerland, France, Mexico........ Since he moved to Portugal, Déni Shain has met and worked with some good names. 

He's been remixing for Paljoey (Boogie Down Production/BBE Records/LOOP-D-LOOP "New York" ), Mr Bird (BBE Records/Fat Bird Sounds/Vital Force/Heavy Duty Booty "U.K.") Michael Berczelly (Thirteen moons Recording, "Mexico") and also Jerry the Cat (Sound Signature, "Detroit").

A bit more then a year ago I received a message from Déni Shain, a french music producer based in Lisbon. In that mail he asked me if I would be interested in releasing music from Cabo Verde since he was close to Chico and Wilson, the 2 DJs behind Celeste Mariposa (an excellent portuguese/angolan soundsystem specialised in lusophone music). 'I can convince them to make their record collection available to you' he added. I asked him if he could send me a selection, not knowing the amount of work my request would represent. I only later found out that the three-men-team had spent a whole week to pick and choose what they thought was adequate and another few days to wash the record and digitise the music.

I received that selection in March 2013 and I haven't stopped listening to it since. I clearly remember having that wonderful feeling when songs keep growing on you the more you listen. 'Very good sign' I thought! The collection of songs I had received became the base for a whole concept and we all started criss crossing Europe and Cabo Verde looking for more music and looking for the Cap-Verdien artists we loved. Déni Shain became an important asset for the Analog Africa label, supporting us with remixes and mixes but more importantly with an addictive positive energy.

After his first mix for us, the amazing 'Ghana Soundtrack' made out of unreleased and rare tracks from the small west african musical powerhouse, here is his second instalment made of handpicked dancefloor filler. A huge shout goes to legendary african music connoisseur John Beatle, to Carlo Xavier for letting us use his fantastic edit of "O Anel"  and to my close friend Keith Slater for offering us some of the fantastic music included here.

French producer and DJ, Déni Shain started writing and digging music during a 15 year musical adventure through the West coast of Africa, Mexico, Spain Portugal and France.  When he was based in Europe, he played as a resident in a few good clubs including : Music-box, Lux, Clube Ferroviario, Hinterhof.  His unique hybrid sound joins the dots between Afro-beats, Disco-Funk, groovy breakbeat & Tropical influences. His first EP, released in 2007, featured both French jazz musicians and African vocalists, was produced by Cryptophyte records and distributed on "Jarring effect".  His Second EP (released in 2014) features different international artists like: Jerry The Cat (Détroit), Jim Dunloop (Berlin), Tomi Young (Nigeria), Nathalie Oliveri (Chicago) and more.  When he moved to Portugal, Déni Shain met and worked with some good names. He's remixed Pal Joey (Boogie Down Production/BBE Records/ Loop-D-Loop), Mr Bird (BBE Music/Vital Force/Heavy Duty Booty), Michael Berczelly (Thirteen moons Recording), Analog Africa (Frankfurt).  For the last two years, Déni paused his travels in Mexico, where he opened his own club in Cuernavaca called "La Baraque". There, he is producing different international artists : DJs, musicians, painters, performers. Also at the same time, he started to work for the legendary label Analog Africa (http://www.lemellotron.com/label/analog-africa/). This year they (Samy Benredjeb and Déni Shain) went on tour in Brazil. They played in Recife on Rec Beat festival, Womex and in Sao paulo at Trackers club.  The Déni Shain DJ set is a mix between all of the music he has found during his travels in the world with only one objective in mind, to get each crowd to dance.
