It’s 2018 and judging by the surge of interest worldwide, it could also be the year of Jungle music. Over in Bristol at Born On Road headquarters the final touches have been put to the long awaited biopic LP from Aries entitled Jungle Style. For an artist who’s spent 20+ years on the road, released 100+ tracks, collaborated with every soundman and his dog and pushed the Jungle sound to it’s absolute limits, this album is something of a lifelong ambition - it’s the summing up of his journey.

If somehow you don’t know Aries and the Jungle scene, he honed his self-taught skills whilst living in Birmingham, London and Bristol. His first major release was Herb Smoke in 2006 which is sat comfortably on 3,000,000 Youtube views at time of press - something of an anomaly for Jungle; he’s a key figure in his collective’s - Chopstick Dubplate, Born On Road and Roots Recordings; he holds the 2016 We Love Jungle Award for Best DJ; he’s seen releases on prestigious Jungle labels Congo Natty, Dread and V Recordings; he DJs around the world so much that he has a tune called Worldwide Traveller with Top Cat and Mr Williamz celebrating their humble attitude for the continued use of ropey budget airline RyanAir. His career has been one of continued hard work and dedication to the sound which has paid off in respect from his peers and he now also commands a legion of dedicated followers that show support at his shows and through collecting the music he makes.

His LP Jungle Style travels across the spectrum of the Aries sound and - true to form - features many of his nearest and dearest friends. From one angle it's a who’s who of the A-list Jungle scene that all wanted to come and pay homage to the Aries legacy by being part of the project, and from the other side it was most definitely directed by Aries himself for it’s signature sound. The album was written, recorded and produced across 8 studios in Birmingham, Slovenia, Paris, London and Jamaica then finished off in Bristol, and that isn’t including where some tracks were part-produced with friends from other far corners of the world. It’s difficult to pick out the highlights as the diversity really does shine through which means there is something for everyone so long as you like it rough, tough and dangerous!

After numerous live performances around Europe and the release of his “A Music for Sound Systems” full length in 2017, Infrasonics’ label boss Spatial rejoins Never Ready with two productions originally aired during his 2016 MUTEK live set and lovingly mutated into NVR003.   

Low frequency perturbations fusing Spatial’s sound system culture references and trademark distortion, Netz Room’s broken techno in the key of grime defines our label’s intent to release forward bass explorations. Hut 6 follows with a ten minute warp drive across the known universe in search of a unifying field theory of techno. 
The B-Side sees J. Tijn’s first foray on Never Ready with a bruk & bass out genetic resequencing of Netz Room, while Munstac returns with a sub heavy 4/4 interpretation of the title track.

Never Ready Records' third release in our establishing tetralogy continues with cover artwork from Nerog, 180g coloured vinyl and a limited pressing of 300 units.

Another month, another release crammed full of techno goodness to fulfil your needs. This time we welcome back "Kenny Campbell" and "Dylan Hill" with their incredible collaboration Bone Skippers. This one has been in the works for a while, we wanted to ensure it was one to remember as with every release on this label, perfectly crafted sounds, the most solid techno we can provide. As the title says this is "Volume 2", look for the original Drum Machine EP on any of our stores or on Bandcamp, a timeless EP, as is this one. Kicking off as with the original EP we have the second instalment or "take" on the concept with "Drum Machine 2", the straight to the point, no nonsense production does exactly what you want, it bangs. From the get-go this track hammers through and will hammer the dance-floor very robust yet familiar, the soothing sounds of Bone Skippers. Track two is another thumper this time they went for a good ol' four on the floor track with "Drums of Hell", an eerie sounding track with some creepy synths and sick twisted sense of doom throughout, this track would send most club goers demented, "what we got here is failure to communicate, some men you just cant reach, so we get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it." Track 3 is a feast of techno, called "Feast of Cadavers" an absolute stomper of a track, busy percs, a solid kick that would knock you to the ground, and some demented eerie synts the little breaks and the solid drops are crafted perfectly. A truly magnificent track. All of the remixes come courtesy of label regulars, first off we have the New Zealand duo, Duo Alias, with their take of "Drum Machine 2", a very well put together remix, constantly progressing with their trademark style, hard as nails, a superb addition to the release. Following the Duo Alias remix of "Drum Machine 2" we have Blurred Boys take of the track, a nice take, adding yet another dimension to this already vastly varied release, but this is not Blurred Boys only addition to the release, he has also mustered up a remix for "Drums of Hell". Both of these remixes add Blurred Boys distinct sound to this EP perfectly. Last on remix we have an absolute stomper of a remix from someone who is involved in all of our releases wether you know it or not, it's Interferon, he has provided a distinctive, banging, and memorable remix to the table with his take of "Feast of Cadavers" really rounding off this release in a very special way that only he could do.
