Berlin’s J Choirboy debuts on Rekids Special Projects with the ‘Mammoth’ EP, landing 17th October 2025. The title track taps into the sort of big, muscular club tools that defined Rekids label head Radio Slave’s early career, with fizzing chords hanging above booming kicks and a constant tension built to dominate dance floors. ‘Loam’ is just as heavy, this time with bright chords bouncing oﬀ gritty, rolling drums for full-body workouts in the club. ‘Stacco’ sinks into grainy territory with static-charged synths and a swinging kick, perfect for warm-ups or 5 a.m. hypnosis. Closing cut ‘The Miller’ layers liquid chords and perfectly syncopated drums into a vast wall of warm, enveloping Dub.

Rooted in choral traditions but driven by a love for Techno and early rave, J Choirboy channels both musical depth and raw energy into his productions. Now based in Berlin, he has previously released on La Mission, now returning with a strong debut for RSPX via the ‘Mammoth’ EP, which has already won support from the likes of DJ Rolando, Elisa Bee, and Truncate.

Michael Mayer became obsessed with Erik Luebs, an American producer based in Osaka, after stumbling upon his independently released music on Bandcamp. Luebs’ talent for creating high-energy, minimalist acid techno with impeccable, futuristic sound design swiftly earned him a regular place in Mayer’s sets. It was only a matter of time before Luebs made his debut on Kompakt’s Speicher series with this highly versatile EP. ‘Riding the Blade’ opens the four-track EP, showcasing Luebs’ signature punchy psychedelia. ‘Scarlet Viscera’ features a sleek, minimal groove that is reminiscent of the genre’s heyday in the 2000s. ‘Transform Into Glass’ emanates blissful Detroit vibes, and the EP closes with a real bang: ‘Sucked Through Tube’ creates a frenzy on the dance floor without the need for a single kick drum. If you like your techno sexy and forward-thinking, there’s no way around the man from Osaka. Play it loud!

Michael Mayer, aka Mr. Lava Lava asked a bunch of his absolute favourite artists to have a go at some of the tracks from his recent album 'The Floor Is Lava'. First up is Barcelona's brightest flame, RAXON, who is melting 'Brainwave 2.0' into a stompin fun-filled primetime banger. Longtime collaborator DAVE DK is a masterful producer and remixer that appears regularly on Pampa and Kompakt. His take on 'The Solution' feels like a road trip to paradise and back. Montreal's PRIORI is one of the hottest names in showbiz right now. His ability to bridge genres and create pristine sound designs is fully on display in his remix for 'The Solution'. Last but not least, the legend that is SEBASTIAN MULLAERT took a moment off from his revered Circle Of Live jams to transform the albums deepest cut 'Ardor' into an extraordinary musical journey. Oldschool Border Community vibes in the rebound!

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
