When Steve Lawler first sent us “Crazy Dream,” he told us that he had made the record “specifically with Turbo in mind,” thus sending us on a quasi-lucid journey down a rabbit hole of self-discovery from which we have only recently emerged. 

Most labels would simply talk up a nuts-to-the-wall floor-filler with a killer “White Horse” bassline from an acid house legend and be done with it, but the fact remains that if we forgo an opportunity to learn more about ourselves as dance music imprint, we are doing our fans a disservice whether they could possibly be expected to realize it or not. 

We hired a board-licensed Forensic Poet to parse the track’s lyrical references to nothing being “quite as it seems,” “feeling naked and confused,” and rising above “the push and shove.” What was he trying to tell us? The poet assured us that all it meant was that Lawler admires Turbo and thought the track would be a good fit, and that we should put our clothes back on, wipe the confused looks from our faces, and stop pushing and shoving one another because everything was exactly as it seemed. We paid him his $25 and did as we were told.

For the remixes, we took a track made especially for us and enlisted a diverse cast of Turbo All-Stars to spin it into a release for everyone, a proprietary practice we call "Human Alchemy: The Future of Generosity™.” Finland’s Jori Hulkkonen, Belgium’s Charlotte de Witte, and Argentina’s DJs Pareja trace a beautiful global triangle for lovers of acid bangers, stripped-down techno, and tripped-out weirdness, respectively. At Turbo, giving party people what they need is more than just a crazy dream. It’s a crazy reality.

Kenny Hawkes was one of the pioneering artists in British dance music. Influenced by the sounds of Hip Hop, Ska, Motown and Dub Reggae as he grew up, he became manager of legendary pirate radio station Girls FM in the 90’s, where he became close friends with Classic boss Luke Solomon. The pair went on to run the longest running mid-week house night in London, Space at Bar Rumba. Sadly Kenny died on 10th June 2011, and Luke has spent a number of years helping his daughter Inez gather all of her Dad’s assets, and with her approval, Classic are releasing this single as a tribute to the legendary Dark Knight of House Music. Featuring the smooth vocals of South African artist Louise Carver, this package contains the original record in all its glory, alongside special remixes from Dario D’Attis and Till von Sein.

The outlaw returns… Dalfie is back on Pets with more marching orders and things are so intense he can’t even compute the gravitas of the situation.
By title, ‘Can’t Think Right Now’ could sum up so many mind states and situations around the world right now. By groove, it’s even more universal; warm, lucid, funky and peppered with psychedelic elements; don’t think, just act, just dance. 
‘Me Plus 1’ follows with another universal call to dancefloor action… And there’s space on the guestlist for everyone. Another rolling slab of unfettered groove, this time much darker, tribal and hypnotic, but loaded with a serious subversion midway; by the time this really kicks in you’ve lost your plus one and you won’t find them until the end of the night. 
Finally we close with a bang as ‘Revolver’ fires shots in all directions. Another warm, timeless analogue chugger, another brilliantly trippy twist midway, another example of why Dalfie keeps getting called back to Pets again and again. Tell us what you think…

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
