Corrie Taylor is a small time musician from Houston, TX. She began playing piano by age 9. She then quit her lessons after only a year, but loved the piano too much to stop learning and began to teach herself by ear. Things quickly progressed over a short few years span. By age 11 she composed her first music piece. Later on, for her 17th birthday she received her first guitar. Within just a few months she joined her first an Alternative Rock band called "The Curbside Rejects". The band didn't last long, they only had two live shows. Yet, she began to test the waters on her solo work. A little less then a year after "The Curbside Rejects" broke up, they had one last reunion show for Corrie's 18th birthday.  She then took a break from the music scene, with occasional completed works on the guitar. By the age of 21, she began her music again. This time with full force. She befriended a local band called "Niteshift" by the age 22. Their stage presence and energy helped her realize that this was her direction. She has worked with several local artist including Brandon Russo, Dustin Ordinario from the thrash metal band "Termination Force", and Matt Doefler. By the age 26, she extended her options in music by becoming her own an audio engineer and producer.

Desert Dwellers is a pioneering electronic music project that bridges the ancient and the future, fusing deep bass, world instrumentation, and psychedelic textures into immersive sonic journeys. Founded in 1999 by Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, the project grew out of the legendary Moontribe gatherings in the deserts of Southern California and Santa Fe, New Mexicos desert rave scene. 

Blending influences from many genres, Desert Dwellers has released dozens of albums and remixes, toured across five continents, and collaborated with an eclectic array of artists from around the world. Their music has graced stages at Symbiosis, Ozora, Lightning in a Bottle, Boom, Envision, Shambhala, and Burning Man, resonating with audiences through both meditative journeys and powerful dancefloor experiences.

In 2026, Desert Dwellers will enter its most significant evolution yet. Co-founder Amani Friend will be stepping away from touring to focus on studio production and other creative pursuits, while a new collaborator joined the project, acclaimed producer and mixing/mastering engineer Sarkis Mikael. While continuing to honor the project’s signature sound and ethos “Music Beyond Borders,” Desert Dwellers is now expanding into bold new sonic territories. Sarkis, with releases on respected labels like Sol Selectas, Saisons, and Hoomidaas, brings a fresh creative spark and deep musical integrity.
