French producer, December, returns to Tresor with An Accident In Favor Of Human Life, the second part of his Transform project, which continues the exploration of themes such as hybridisation and the boundaries of the self that were undertaken in June 2023's What Remains of Us? 

Transform Part 2 finds December increasing the intensity of his output as the Industrial and electro influences in his musical crucible come to the fore adding a punching tungsten toughness to the beats, welded and riveted to myriad other sources including post punk, ambient, and musique concr&egrave;te adding a more melodic and emotional edge than the darker hues of Part 1. 

The product of this is a collection of juddering and staccato pieces that call to mind steampunk as much as the glittering sci-fi most often invoked by electronic works. 

As per the first instalment, the cover art of In Favor Of Human Life continues the ongoing creative partnership between December and visual artist Marie Qu&eacute;au whose photograph appears to show a human face that straddles the boundary between the familiar and unsettling. 

When Parts 1 &amp; 2 are listened to consecutively, as a complete work, elements in one half reverberate into the other revealing a refined pattern and a landmark work by an artist coming to a new peak of creative power.

The latest compilation album in COD3 QR's "Artist Cod3" series is, as always, focused on eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity.  The usual wide range of electronic music is featured with Drum & Bass don Calibre opening up the release with Dub, followed by Techno from Seroplexx and Costello, a more Detroit style vibe from Jim Rivers, Deep House from Subground_3000, while Marcellus, and Melatron & Ancient Artefacts complete the vinyl package with Leftfield beats.   

Bonus digital tracks come from Subground_3000 once more, plus some melodious Techno from Oliver Way & Dany Rodriguez.

All the tracks have been handpicked by Laurent Garnier and Scan X.

@laurent-garnier selects new tracks for [QR]D.137.SPK.24 by six COD3 QR favourites @carlosnilmmns, @jules-wells, @marco-bailey, @loisplugged, @voltaire0music and @joaquimplossumusic.

UK producer, Carlos Nilmmns, originally from Glasgow (Scotland), now living in Angers (France) has become synonymous with an eclectic but often deep and sensual sound influenced by the traditions of Chicago and Detroit. He's released on some of the world's best labels including Circus Company, Cocoon, Ornaments, KMS, Planet E and Dopewax. He follows up "Old Paris" for COD3 QR 016 with the Jazz House of "True People".

Jules Wells who delivered the infectious "The Clap" on COD3 QR 016 is back with the retro House sound of "Dreamer". Jules Wells is from Bordeaux, France. Strongly influenced by the Motor City, Jules has released on the likes of Submerge, Twilight 76, KMS, Planet E, Brique Rouge and Logos (Macedonia).

Marco Bailey is no stranger to COD3 QR delivering "Keep On Holding" for COD3 QR 011 and "Liquid Room" for 014. A luminary figure in the global techno landscape, Belgian DJ, producer and label owner (Materia, MB Elektronics, Elektronik Zoo Sounds, Fundaments Ltd), Marco's career has spanned over three decades. Beginning in the early 1990s, his tracks have also graced revered imprints such as Intec, Bedrock, Cocoon and many more. Here, he brings the epic Techno of "Full Steam".

Lois (fr) who has also produced under the name Loïs Plugged, is a sound engineer, music producer and one of the key players in the Bordeaux electronic scene. Founder of the Bordeaux school Artschool and manager of Intelligent Design (his production and mastering studio), he has also signed numerous compositions and remixes on independent and major labels including Sony, Trax, his own Wefine and COD3 QR (009, 011 and 013). This we get late-night Techno action on "Fire".

Another COD3 QR regular is the studio crazy Voltaire. Always demanding in the art of handling frequencies and machines, his productions, where rhythms, pads and melodies intermingle, come to form the contours of his universe: a vibrating techno star at the tempo of bewitching kicks. Master of romantic techno, Voltaire writes a story from the stars with a classic Electro, deep Techno and melodic pen. He selects his Electro nib for "The Dawn".

French born, Mexican resident Joaquim Plossu returns from [QR]D.109.RFL.24, with "Geologist Dub". He has been making music as a producer, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer for the past 20 years with releases on 31 Recordings, Fokuz, Repertoire, Deep Heads, Planet Rhythm and more. Both music composer and producer for TV and films, as well as Drum & Bass producer in his spare time, he closes the release with the dubby Lofi of "Geologist Dub"
