Dan Formless launches Saboteurs Sanctuary as an auditory expression of his Forward Movement studio in London, UK.

This EP features a remix from Alex Celler and comes hot on the heels of Dan’s solo debut record “Fried All Day” on Bank of Switches with support from Sonja Moonear, Satoshi Tommie, Alexkid, Bushwhacka!, Eddie Richards, Terry Francis, Shaun Reeves, Mike Shannon, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and Archie Hamilton. 

An avid collector of music gear with a penchant for vintage units, Dan has scoured the globe collecting rare studio machinery in a quest to create unique sounds. His travels have added further layers to an already rich canvas, painted by DJ exploits across major cities in Europe and Asia, alongside residencies in London nightclubs.

Focusing on solo music production, Dan has dedicated the last few years to his creative process liberation whilst experimenting with drum machines, synthesizers and effects. He is now sharing the results of these sonic explorations, delving into the deeper sides of house, techno and electro whilst staying true to his dubby minimal roots.

The inaugural ‘Actions Speak Louder’ EP hits the ground running with two original tracks from Dan Formless and a stellar remix from Alex Celler. ‘Nitty Gritty’ is a peak time brain melter with sizzling synth lines and intricate drum patterns occupying the A-side. ‘4Q’ weaves together syncopated rhythms and deep rolling bass lines on the flip side. These are punctuated by playful call-and- response synth motifs to create an enigmatic after-hours slow burner. Alex Celler offers a glitchy ‘4Q’ remix with his undeniable flair for fusing infectious grooves with futuristic aural landscapes in a late night exploration of modular electronics.

In March this year COD3 QR delivered a digital threesome from DJ Deep, Avision and Deetron.  Now, twice as much is coming in June for the label's first vinyl-only release, with each artist bringing a second track to the platter.  As usual the tracks have been selected by Laurent Garnier for the label whose ethos is: Music diversity is our strength!

Fortunate to grow up around the rich club culture of NYC and influenced by the sounds around him, Avision started young on the turntables at the age of 12, gained his first residency at 15, and hasn't looked back since.  Around that time, he also began to hone his production skills and developed a distinctly New York-flavoured techno and house sound which is evident on "Hold No Groove" and "Talk Is Cheap".  It's the recognisable sound he's previously brought to the likes of Cocoon, Ellum, Drumcode and Hardgroove.  

Having been involved with making and playing music for over 20 years, Deetron is an artist who is assured in his ambitions and a skilled performer, maintaining a high level of quality in every aspect of his career: from mind-boggling three-deck DJ sets to his special touch on remixes or his diverse range of productions.  In 2014 he launched his own imprint, Character.  But has also graced the likes of Axis, Music Man, Subject Detroit, Running Back, Rekids and more.  Here he brings the original techno sound of "Pulse", alongside the deeper "Corazon".

DJ Deep got the party started on the digital version with "What's Going On".  It's now accompanied by the hypnotic "Transition".  So, it's no surprise to hear he started playing at clubs and raves in Paris in the late '80s / early '90s, including Laurent's renowned Wake Up at Rex.  The respected and versatile DJ, producer, label-boss and party curator is just at home helming the decks at major venues as well as mixing radio shows for Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM.  As a producer his critically acclaimed appearances on Rekids, Kaoz Theory and Tresor, not to mention his own Deeply Rooted, have demonstrated his imaginative approach to house and techno.

Norman Nodge is a resident dj at Berghain since 2005. Being a life long music lover, dj and promoter of his own parties all led up to his current status of Berlin’s secret weapon for serious techno.
Born in East German Leipzig, raised in Brandenburg, Norman got bitten by the techno bug after the wall came down. From 1994 on he promoted several events, which also helped to launch his career as a dj. At these parties, he crossed paths with Marcel Fengler and Marcel Dettmann for the first time and literally became their mentor for all things techno.
At the end of the 90s, Nodge backed out of the local nightlife in order to focus on becoming a lawyer and starting a family. Five years ago, though, Marcel Dettmann pitched him to Berghain’s management and he became a resident instantaneously. Since then, he plays there once a month specialising in the almost forgotten art of warming up at the beginning of a night. In 2005 he also started to produce his own tracks. His maturity proved to be very beneficial in terms of his artistic vision, as he made up his mind about what he likes and what not a long time ago already. Unsurprisingly, his outings on Dettmann’s MDR label, as well as his track „Native Rhythm Electric“ for OstGut Ton left a deep impression with headstrong techno lovers. With his dusty funk, static hiss and the rich thump of his kick drums, he managed to made himself recognised as one of techno’s more unique auteurs.
Norman Nodge cites Detroit techno (Jeff Mills, Rob Hood, 430 West), Chicago House (Relief, Dance Mania) and Techno (Luke Slater, Peacefrog, Mark Broom) as his most essential influences. Hence, it is not surprising that he fuses the old with the new, the soft with the tough when he plays out. „It is my goal as a dj to make people dance withought walking on trodden paths of recent trends. I want to sensitize dancers for unusual sounds, old and new.“
