The latest compilation album in COD3 QR's "Artist Cod3" series is, as always, focused on eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity.  The usual wide range of electronic music is featured with Drum & Bass don Calibre opening up the release with Dub, followed by Techno from Seroplexx and Costello, a more Detroit style vibe from Jim Rivers, Deep House from Subground_3000, while Marcellus, and Melatron & Ancient Artefacts complete the vinyl package with Leftfield beats.   

Bonus digital tracks come from Subground_3000 once more, plus some melodious Techno from Oliver Way & Dany Rodriguez.

All the tracks have been handpicked by Laurent Garnier and Scan X.

'Acid Boyfriend & Acid City' ushers listeners into a mesmerizing soundscape where Indie Dance meets Techno. The title track, "Acid Boyfriend," pulsates with a hypnotic groove and the unmistakable infusion of acid sounds, igniting dance floors worldwide. "Acid City" takes the audience on an immersive journey through the late-night cityscape, painting a vivid picture with its dark, seductive melodies.

Remix Revolution:

This EP is not just a release; it's an event. Renowned German producer Thomas Schumacher takes on "Acid Boyfriend," delivering a remix that pays homage to the Phuture and early '80s acid era. Meanwhile, the dream team duo of Marc Romboy and André Winter presents their take on the track, transforming it into a techno peak-time masterpiece.

From Buenos Aires to the World:

The genesis of this musical masterpiece began in Buenos Aires, where Naiborg, an Argentinian live-act sensation, operates primarily with her trusty 303 Acid Roland box. The EP's creation was an integral part of DJ HELL's South American tour in 2023, where the artists drew inspiration from the early days of acid house, reminiscent of trailblazers like Phuture and Armando.

These were merely ideas, scribbles on paper, memories and moments. It was hard to define the context of one mans life into a body of focus, an idea in itself was not enough. It must be conceptual. This was not the first time that he’d attempted to build an accurate profile of a hero. He remembered the moments that they’d shared together long ago…

As he looked up from his seat, he watched the wanderers down on the beach, wading in the soft rippling waters. It all felt so long ago now. As if it had been another life. Perhaps that’s all it was…

This one is a little bit special. A spellbinding, emotional remix from Convextion as he reworks a track from ReKab into something delicate and remarkable. Tinged with poignant optimism this one has tears on the dancefloor written all over it.

A key figure in Dutch nightlife, Lupe carries out a mission of unity through his music and parties. Based in Amsterdam, Lupe’s sound draws inspiration from acid house and disco as well as the key values that the electronic music scene is built around: peace, tolerance and respect. Over the years he developed from deejaying and promoting parties to a multi-faceted DJ/producer.

His music is supported by a wide range of artists such as Derrick Carter, The Blessed Madonna, Andy Butler, Tom Trago, Erol Alkan, Heidi, Honey Soundsystem, Laurent Garnier, Spencer Parker, Jason Kendig, Truncate, Catz ‘N Dogz, Lauren Flax, Boys Noiz, Shadow Child, Alinka, Shaun J. Wright and many more.

Creatively triggered as a child by a Christmas gift from his parents, the aptly-named compilation ‘Acid House’ on the Jack Trax label, started his exploration of dance music.Aged 16 he became a go-go dancer. Insatiably learning about artists and labels, collecting records, he evolved from club kid to dance music connoisseur. He graduated in film studies and collected records. Then Lupe decided to create fantasy worlds for others: on the dance floor.

From a DJ perspective, Lupe has residencies at Amsterdam’s globally-renowned Red Light Radio and the Parish parties at PiP Den Haag. He has thrown it down at esteemed Amsterdam clubs such as De School and Shelter, events around the world like Is Burning, Trouw, Buttons, Paradiso, Studio 80, 5DaysOff, Lowlands, Mysteryland, NOW&WOW, Dance Valley and even Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour after-party at Heineken Music Hall.

What’s more, he also played alongside some of the scene’s foremost names, not least Tiga, Hercules & Love Affair, Steffi, DJ T, Shinedoe, Prosumer, Tama Sumo, San Proper, Miss Kittin, Honey Dijon, Booka Shade, DJ Haus, Azari & III and so on.As a promoter, Lupe has consistently been pushing an inclusive house and techno agenda in Amsterdam since 2004 via his own parties such as Get on Down, UNK, Acid Nouveau and Italo Elite with the latter winning the award for Best Party (2010) at the infamous Dutch Golden Gnome Awards where he was also nominated Best New DJ in 2005.Artist Statement“I bring a new identity for dance, for men and women, straight and gay, black and white and so on. There is nothing to be scared of in each other. Nightlife is the designated area to overcome our differences in daily life, where we see each other freely in a new light.”

The split EP ‘Transmitting Coordinates’ comprises the efforts of Uun, whose roots lay in Kansas (USA), and Argentina’s Vladw – the former a familiar face, the latter a newcomer to the label. While the physical distance between their home bases couldn’t have been much bigger, their visions of techno and the mature sound it results in in both their tracks, are about as close as it gets. The similarities in this piece of present-day techno go beyond repetitiveness: both artists exceed at the use of glitchy tops blended with tight low ends, and letting those evolve so gradually that it nearly goes unnoticed. It results in these four solid cuts that need nothing but their comprehensive grooves to stay fascinating. One can only hope that somewhere in the future, the work of Uun and Vladw will find its way to many more EP’s like these.
