Coda

Ken Snyder aka @coda is truly one of the Ubiktune legends, whose first appearance happened in Summertunes compilation album back in 2009. Since then, Ken produced a number of albums, including a team effort with Surasshu and their TREE OF KNOWLEDGE album, progressively synthesized tracer, a soundtrack to Alter Ego: DreamWalker, as well as appearances in various team projects.

And now for something completely different. With the upcoming re-release of my first novel, I've been working on touching up some of the songs that accompanied it. This is one of many of them that I touched up while my co-author and I rewrote the book. I'll be releasing the book's album sometime in 2025, so stay tuned. My entry for the Super MIDI Pak collab - and my first SNES chiptune (on real hardware!!) I was so fortunate to be allowed to make a late entry to this collab.

The SNES limitations were much tighter than I expected them, I initally overloaded the RAM by a huge margin just with my sequence data! So I eneded up having to simplify the song in some really weird and creative ways - especially because I wanted to keep volume automation for the sidechain effect! The samples are all custom, and heavily compressed and cut back as well. That was a lot of fun.

Album: FM ChipTape Vol.1 " Radio Hero"

Another book/album 2 song I've sat on for a minute.
The so-called "Tech Sector" is a part of the Aegiys' main stronghold city, Dezma. It's a place full of star junk, electric lights, and all sorts of engineers and junkers. Although Verse and co. don't visit it in the second book, someone else certainly does.

One of the completely new tracks I've whipped up for Elancia: Symphony of Hunted Truths Redux. I wanted to make a laid back song for the town, but *not* a happy and carefree one. Dezma is a beautiful place, but not necessarily a great one to live in. Little bits of levity and a "what can you do" type of attitude permeate the place.

Like with the first album, there are a few fresh tracks not on the older iterations of the album, and at first I thought the second would have very few! While working our way through the book, Emma and I ended up adding a lot of new scenes and locations, though, and here we are. 
I originally composed this song back around 2010-ish, so it was nice to revisit it and play it again!
