This track was made during a difficult period for me, when covid drove me into a cage of depression. To cope with it, I, in spite of everything, took out all the light that is in me and, through I can't, tried to make music. And she saved me! This is the first track in a new, now, world. Recorded last year my first notes on this track when mixed started with the word 'madness'.
Somewhat refined by editing the structure is ABCBDBEBB...
'B' could represent both bridge and breakdown...the heart of the piece and the initial musings on a alto sax/flute riff that sort of drifted off into improvised ramblings.
Other sections feature flute solo, melodica/synth, distorted clarinet and soprano sax in celtic mode and rumbling triple tongued bass-effect alto sax.
Behind it all (somewhere) is a chugging thai violin. 
Still somewhat crazy.

🌾 SESSION XVIII — CHALGA OF THE CARPATHIANS  

Enter the mist-wrapped mountain passes of the Balkans. “Chalga of the Carpathians” weaves hypnotic non-lexical chants, polyphonic vocal trills, and breath-punctuated harmonies into a forest-born ritual. Gadulka drones, kaval flourishes, and tapan drum rhythms echo through the Carpathian dusk, accompanied by goatskin frame drum taps, swirling Şalgam reeds, and pine-shaded field recordings.

This session honors the ecstatic tradition of mountain song—from Bulgarian village calls to Romanian forest hymns. It’s a trance of stone and smoke, echo and breath.
